So far i have a dark angels, blood angels and the beginnings of an imperial guard army i am now thinking for another army and have narrowed it down to skitarii/cult mech, imperial fists, salamanders or ultramarines and heres why

skitarii/admech
looks very cool
powerful weapons

imperial fists
allieability
siege warfare sounds cool

salamanders
again allieability
flamers and melta spam

ultramarines
also allieability
painting referance is easy (almost every space marine set stock photo is ultramarines)
lots of avalible units

so if somebody could hell me decide on my next army that would help a lot
also leave a comment on why you voted what you did please

You already have two very different SM armies, let's try something else !

I vote for Ultramarines.

Versatile, easily referenced, vanilla army that you can excusably add anything to, classic, and underplayed.

I always hear people groan about how common they are, but in almost 15 years, I've only seen one person do them in real life.

Do it!

Ultramarines are my favorite loyalist marines, thanks to Graham Mcneill. And you rarely see ACTUAL Ultras. Closest you usually see is someone using Ultra Rules for their Successor Chapter.

But in all honestly, I'd say Admech JUST to mix up your model line. With so many marines, you might get burnt out painting/playing all of them. If you had your Guard and Admech to mix it up, you could always play/paint them when T4 3+ gets boring.

I began with Ultramarines, switched to Wolves, and now have finally settled on Salamanders. I've read all their fluff and novels I can find and love their background as a chapter and a legion. I've even started building up their forces to play them as 30k.

OTOH, adeptus mechanicus would be more variety model-wise.

I don't play so rules wise, I have no idea how they play but collecting modelling wise, I say Admech. Something different, visually and as someone said already don't get burnt out by painting more marines.

Also the new box set for $100 Canadian seems like a great deal to start.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

I play DA, and just started Admech for my second army.

If you want a full stand alone army, that can also ally in while it is growing, I suggest admech, starting with a few get started boxes (as you will need multiple vanguard/ranger kits, and probably up to 3 ongers), they are really good value.
