Hi all. Planning to get back into the hobby after a long absence and keen to revisit some of my old models and get some new ones. I've devised a pretty fluffy list - an alliance of two inquisitors and their forces - which I hope will also be able to win at least a few games. Want the HQs to remain pretty much the same for fluff reasons though would be happy to change the loadout of the Ordo Hereticus. Thinking I may go up to 2000 pts and buy an inquisition chimera or rhino for the Vanguard and something else (???). Let me know your thoughts. Thanks in advance!

The main problem you will run into is going to be a lack of transports for your troops. They are going to get mauled before many of them get into range. I like taking a flesh tearers formation from blood Angels for the 6 fast attack slots and then I take a lot of drop pods. But for your list I would make 2 dunecrawlers neutron lasers and one Icarus array. The 2 neutron lasers pierce through armor like butter and you still have one Icarus array to deal with fliers.

Too many points in INQ. Take an assassin and 1 INQ if you want

As said above, some drop pods would make these factions vicious.

Then take the following:
Caroness combi melta
4 SoB squads 5 women with melta combi melta heavy flamer
3 of the fast attack sisters that ingore cover with 4 meltas and a combi melta each

then 3 of the retributer squads with 4 heavy flamers and a combi flamer as well

Everything goes in drop pods

and hey sisters and blood angels are very fluffy allies from Shield of Baal

Thanks for the replies guys. As I said, this is a pretty fluffy army and the hq is for fluff reasons and I'm not really willing to change it. Good as drop pods are, I don't really want to take a detachment of Flesh Tearers just to get access to them. I am not looking for a tournament-competitive army list here, but rather C&C on my troop and heavy support choices, whether i should be taking elites and more fast attack, and squad and character loadouts. Apologies if I did not make that clear.

gdzilla - Are immolators not quite good transport options for the sisters? As for the Vanguard, I am thinking I will take a chimera for them from the inquisition list. Drop pods would be ideal, but not worth the money investment of an entire new detachment for me. Thanks for the advice on the skyfire array - when I was playing flyers didn't exist outside forgeworld so i don't really know how much firepower you need with them, I will probably skip the neutron lasers though as I like eradication beamers and I feel the exorcists, meltas and arquebus rangers between them fulfill the anti-armour role.

xSoulgrinderx - as I say, not really willing to change the HQ choices. Happy to spend those points on fluff. I do like the sound of an assassin though.
