Per the FW downloads:
http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/resources/fw_site/fw_pdfs/Horus_Heresy/Narik.pdf

FW pretty much put his rules and the rules for the Praevian on the same sheet. Under his special rules, it calls out each and every rule and gear that the Praevian has, except Support Officer... Is that an intentional omission, adding to his distinctiveness as a special character or is it meant to be implicitly covered by where he has the special rule "Consul: Legion Praevian?" -Where there isn't any "Consul: Legion Praevian" special rule.

This I would like to know too.

Personally, I see it as this: under his special rules, it lists Console: Legion Pravian. The first special rule listed for Console: Legion Pravian is support officer, as such, Narik would be a support officer imo.

I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field.

It goes along with the Centurions being able to upgrade into one of the things from the list of Console's.

It's there to tell you that he is a Centurion, upgraded to a Console and the type is Legion Pravian, and that as such, he is a Support Officer and has the same restrictions as standard Pravians.

You guys agree though it's a round about way to go about it, when literally every other Pravian rule he has is spelled out?

Autilon Skorr also has Consul: Legion Delegatus, listed under his special rules as well. Like I said, its because Centurions have the rule "Consul" listed under their Special Rules.

Would Narik be anything other than a praevian centurion if he does have support officer. Meaning is there anything unique about him otherwise or is he just a preset praevian centurion with a name?

He's a named Praevian with a set Wargear Option.
