I'm looking to pick up some new paints as the cheap stuff I bought isn't really working out, probably as much from my lack of experience as bad quality product, and was hoping someone could offer recommendations on some good brands/colors to check out. I'm wanting to do a Nurgle paint theme for what will ultimately (hopefully) be a Dark Mechanicus army. Ideally I'm looking for some sort of "Toxic" green that can contrast well with black, but I would also be interested in other ideas.

I can't give you specific color recommendations for green, but as far as paints, you have a couple of options that are readily available.

-Citadel. Get it at any GW, and a fair number of hobby stores. A lot of us like to bash Citadel paint, but it's actually good paint, if not a bit pricey, like anything GW makes.

-Vallejo. Their Game Color line is a very good match to the old Citadel colors, comes in dropper bottles, and is at least as good as Citadel, and less money, as well. Over the last couple of years, I've been replacing my Citadel paints with Vallejo. You may have to order online, but the dropper bottles make it worth the wait.

Reaper. Not as big of a range, never used them, but many here do. In addition to Reaper, the other bigger names are Cote D'arms and Army Painter. I've started using Army Painter washes, and like them much better than Citadel.

Here's a link to The War Store. Good place, good service, they carry most anything you'll need:

Vallejo Scorpion Green is a nice bright 'radioactive goo' sort of colour.

There is also Privateer Press' Formula P3 range which I think are decent paints. Their Thrall Flesh or Necrotite Green might be what you are looking for.

I've got a neon green here from vmc here, it needs to go over a light base, but it is pretty toxic looking.

As well as the ones above (I mostly use Vallejo) I really like my Warcolor paints. They are very, very good paints as well as inexpensive. Their paint naming system makes it easy to find shades and highlights for the beginner. http://warcolours.com/ is their adress, and shipping is very reasonable if you buy a few.
