Hi,
I'm a casual player working on putting together a (counts-as) Grey Knight army for a friendly tournament. No allies are allowed so I'm running pure Grey Knights, and for fluff reasons, would like to maximize my chances of casting Vortex of Doom, and to a lesser extent Gate of Infinity (the army represents a Navigator household, and I love the idea of my counts-as-librarians Navigators warp-eyes being represented on the table-top).
But I'm not sure if it makes more sense to run one suped up Librarian w/ ML3 and the Domina Liber Daemonica (giving me 4 rolls on the Santic table, rerolling duplicates should give me a good chance of getting the Vortex power) or two separate Librarians, each rolling on Santic. I could afford to upgrade one of them to ML3, maybe even both, but at the expense of the rest of the army. The end result would be 4-6 rolls on the Santic table depending on ML upgrades, but with more of a chance of getting duplicate non Vortex/GoI powers on each Librarian. But on the other hand if I rolled well I might even be able to cast two Vortices in one turn! Not that I'd have the warp charges to pull it off I guess. The other santic powers are pretty good for Navigator fluff too so maybe it doesn't matter that much, and the real question is if it's more useful to have 1 super librarian or 2 regular ones.
Any first-hand advice, math-hammering, or other thoughts would be much appreciated!
Thanks!
