I know that stormcasts get reforged when they fall in battle, but when they are originally chosen how is this done? Does Sigmar talk to them? I'm interested in writing a short story (maybe when it's done I'll post it) but I just want to get the details down so it makes sense with the fluff. Also I'm wondering if certain characters that died in endtimes, could they be resurrected by Sigmar if he could grab their soul?

Ok seriously, I don't know. It seems from magic from Sigmar himself. Literally GW makes him out like god, begging forged in his own image. So it doesn't matter if you are a female Ork, Dwarf or shrimp, you become human Male Space Marine.

Then again, the prices of the books I find outrages so never bought them so what do I know.

Firstly Kirby looks at his bank account in dismay. He then calls the sales department and assigns them to oversee creative in making a revenue stream. Sales, sees that space marines are the largest sellers, so they task creative with coming up with a new version of space marines in a new setting to "double dip" into their customer base. Creative, which is now down to three writers and an intern , come up with the sigmarines and age of sigmar. Pretty simple .

Lol hilarious responses. Though none really that help. I've read up on some lore that I googled but haven't really read much of the actual lore and fluff. Any links to actual information to help me write this lil short would be awesome

From what I've gathered from the lore, you can be made into a Stormcast if you invoke Sigmar upon your death and have an extreme hatred of chaos/want of revenge, justice, ect. Having any kind of martial skill helps as well. In Hammer of Sigmar, Tylos Stormbound mentions a few times he was a pit fighter before he was reforged.

Still waiting on some official fluff about female Stormcasts.

We know they are souls taken to whatever soul forge Sigmar has. An Order version of how Soul Grinders are made from the sounds of it.

Stormcast are created from warriors who fought against chaos in the Mortal Realms. The Hammers of Sigmar (gold team) are those who worshipped Sigmar, the Hallowed Knights (team silver) are chosen from those who called for Sigmar's aid at the point if death, the Celestial Vindicators (team Turquoise) died with chaos' blood on them, etc. etc.
They are transported to Sigmaron, and are 'reforged' on the Anvil of Apotheosis in a process that sounds pretty painful ("blasted apart repeatedly") and can take anything from days to centuries, and are 'reborn' as Stormcast, remade in Sigmar's image.
They lose a little of their humanity/who they were with each reforging.
