im planning on makeing some orky terrain that is basically solid buildings (ie non ruins but solid terrain pieces), the whole point of these structures is for easliy stacking them on top of each other and connecting with sky bridges (to easily make an ork themed hive/ cites of death).
my question is how do most traverse these terain pieces? do you just go to the edge of the structure and just scale it if its 3inches high, or do you utilize doors modeled on the terrain to reach the higher floors?
and if you do use doors then how do you use them, how do units enter and exit doors and reappear on the uper floor of a building? ive occasionally seen miniwargameing do this but i dont think ive ever seen them cover how they do it?

There aren't any terrain rules except for the most basic and some rules on ruins. The rulebook wants you to make up your own rules for terrain pieces

So in short make up your own rules.

7th edition suffers from no skinny terrain rules syndrom. Use 6th edition rules and rules from Stronghold assault as a guide line instead. This is what most players still have in their minds and will most likely accept. Also keeping things in line with standard sizes helps a lot . So floors should me 3" high or at least count as 3" high etc.
