So, I'm starting a NEW Space Marine chapter called the Son's of Ares still planning on how I want the chapter to be equipped and what they should have, IE land speeders, drop pods, terminators, etc.

A little bit on the chapter and myself, I've looked into the Warhammer 40k universe fairly deeply and know quite a bit about it, given it's HUGE size and scale. And, for a while, I've wanted a personal chapter but could never figure out what to make it look like or name them. I decided with Son's of Ares because my middle name is Ares. Their color scheme is inspired by the Exorcists, the pre heresy (red) Word Bearers, and a little bit Thousand Sons pre heresy. Now for the chapter.

They are a secretive chapter, with them being the decimated 2nd Legion. Kept secret bar from the High Lord's of Terra. In millennium 35, recovering from the Horus Heresy and the many suicide missions they had sent them selves on, an ork WAAAGH! slammed into their home world of Olympus Rex. Decimating them to next to nothing. (My army is all that is left of the once noble legion.) (Apothecaries for fluff reasons soon.)

Developing the Chapter as it goes.

Just a tiny suggestion, but I would avoid saying they are part of the Lost Legions like the plague...

They are all listed with what is obviously on them, the captains could all have artificer armor one game and none the next, so it all depends on the points. Feel free to comment on my army choices (Got Betrayal at Calth, so that is majority of my army) I believe that I have 2 centurion devastator squads coming in by the end of the month, so let me know what they should be equipped with. I'm thinking Grav-Cannons/ Amps with hurricane bolters for one and Lascannons and Missiles for the other squad. Also, drop pods or rhinos as transports? I'm leaning towards drop pods for the dreadnought, a (future) sternguard squad, and 1 or two tactical squads. I'm open to all critics to my army and possible tactics.

I also have Vulkan He'stan, he's heavily converted so he doesn't look like a salamander, but I was thinking crimson fists chapter tactics and maybe have He'stan be a captain or maybe be part of a different detachment, thoughts?

Looks pretty good. I see you're using BaC minis. I'm assuming this is a 40k force?

Yes, the chapter only has an odd number of relic suits of armor. But I'm hoping to get into 30k a ways down the road.

Possibly try to bring some spears into it for the elites or something if you go with more melee guys? Sons of Ares really gives a sort of spartan feel from the name alone.
