Wanted to know how bad you guys thought this list was before I buy a couple more things to complete it.
Black Legion for eternal warrior on the Nurgle Prince, Purge detachment for four heavy support slots.

Headquarters
-Be'lakor (Warlord)
-Nurgle Prince, Wings, Spineshiver Blade, Skull of Ker'ngar, Mastery Level One; Malefic.

1850 on the nose and perfectly legal list.

No, you don't need troops. That's half the point of that detachment.

I'm not sure the spined chaos beasts are worth the points, but other than that I like it. And I realize we don't have much gravy to choose from in Elites.

Agreed, there's not really many other Elites options that will work here. You could just do 2 Helbrutes with Twin-Linked Lascannons....but...nevermind.....I think you should try to find points for Armoured Ceramite on that Typhon. You could change the Spined Beasts into Khorne ones to save some points. Or drop something off the DP, I don't know anything about those BL relics so I can't say what would be good to lose. If the 5 points matter you don't really need a Dirge Caster on that Typhon, he doesn't really want to be that close to gak I don't think.

Ladies and gentlemen, I made a mistake. I apologize amd I take full responsibility.

The Purge formation only req is 1 hq and 2 elites, but has the option for 8 troops and 6 elites and 4 heavy but no fast slots.



I really just wanted an excuse to use that picture...

I think it would be against the spirit of the rules of the Purge detachment to take any daemons of Khorne. But I could changed them to Helbrutes with TL Lascannon and it saves me the necessary 20 points for ceramic plating.

The Skull of Ker'ngar grants eternal warrior, the Spineshiver blade grants +1 initiative and is a daemon weapon (it is also AP3, but doesn't matter on a monstrous creature it becomes AP2)

I'm pretty sure you have to either use the deamon weapon or use your standard monsterous creature attacks, you cannot take the best characteristics from both using the extra attacks from the deamon weapon and the ap value from being a monsterous creature.

That aside...I mean I don't know how to make black legion competitive. It really is just a tall order where everyone has to take veterans of the long war. I would say it's always been tempting to have preffered enemy and bs5 terminators but termies are already subpar and making them more expensive compounds the problem. But that is what I would do with black legion or what I always wanted to do anyway.

List is illegal anyway. I would swap the Sicarans for Maulerfiends to make it legal. I didn't know the Daemon Prince would be striking at AP3 if he used the Spineshiver Blade, I have seen a lot of people using Black Mace Daemon Princes and converting its attacks to AP2 since it is wielded by a monstrous creature (Black Mace is AP4).

Right you don't have a way to deal with infernal relic problems, didn't even think of that.

As for the AP3 thing, your initial thoughts are correct. He is AP2 due to the Smash USR for Monstrous Creatures. Doesn't matter his weapon, he is always AP2. By Epartalis' logic, he is AP- since his base weapon is simply a Close Combat Weapon which doesn't have APc
