Stop it Bottle. I don't care for Dwarves, but now seeing your bald headed one, I think of Gimli and now want one.

Only if they had a starter set for them just like the others. Just can't pass up that Sepheron box set.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

There is not this idea.

Nice to see the comparison, thanks. While I'm not a fan of the bigger and bigger trend, it seems like these are some of the least objectional. I mean, not really objectional at all.

The one with the horn made me laugh a bit. I'd like to see someone turn it into a giant drinking horn. That'd be nice and dwarfy.

Thanks for the comparison pics Bottle!

I have been curious as to the scale of the new Slayers, and I'm glad to see they don't really stand out when compared to the the 2013 releases.

As for the BFSP dwarves, I think they are scaled to match the earlier dwarf releases, if I remember correctly. That should explain why they are a bit smaller. It's like if you compare a HE IOB Seaguard with a Spearman - the Seaguard will be a tad bigger.

Out of topic edit: I'm still waiting for a name for that unit champion, you lazy bum! :p

Thanks for the comparison!

People generally cry out "Scale creep!" faster than GW releases models for AoS. They did it with the Bloodreavers (bit taller than Marauders) and Bloodwarriors (same height than the Metal/Finecast Chosen). GW never had any consitency in their model height, I think the AoS releases are all still acceptable.

And your shots make the Slayers with shields look a lot better than GW's shots! I also like the bald one. Are the hair or whatever on the helmets optional? I think they would look better (and smaller) without it.

Somewhere in south-central England.

The Sygmarines are big but they are special, i.e. Marines type of size, and it's entirely in keeping for an elite army.

These pics make it clear that the FyreSlayers only look big because of their big helmets and massive choppers. Their actual height is similar to the other Dwarves.

Mind you, it's probably a good thing they are nude, else their armour would make them very chunky.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Excellent comparison, Bottle.

Coincidentally, I just did a similar thing with those other models that caused a size-stir, the Varanguard;

I posted more comparison pics and some thoughts in the usual place.

Bottle, you totally sold me on the bald fyreslayers.

The main difference with old dwarves and "new dwarves" (meaning the fyreslayers and the last plastic kits for "regular dwarves") wasn't about size, to me - it's about proportions. The "new dwarves" feel more realist on that matter, to me; head and hands much more in line with their short bodies.

Weapons are still huge, though.

Yes, Burlok is a bit "bigger" than the "troopers". Actually, he's stepping on something, so he's cheating a bit.

Lol, that sounds awesome! If I had modelling skills I would try it :-)

The dwarf holds the horn in a really awkward way, but there's something endearing about it I like.

Haha, I know. I'm no good with names so I keep putting it off :-p hope the square bases all got put to use!

Thanks! Well, I need to do some thinking on how to build the rest. You get 4 dwarves with their left arms raised in the air. One gets the horn, so I have 3 more...

Having an upraised shield looks dumb to me, I'm thinking of giving them dual axes and bolstering the shields on their backs...

You get 4 bald heads in the set (2 sets of 2) designed to go with the Champion head. I think adding a few bald ones into the mix looks cool :-)

Wow! They really are impressively sized! Truly a unit of Chaos lords!

You saw it here first! ;-)

Yes, the dwarves have lost their giant hands and heads, which is great in my opinion! Makes the sculpts look very modern.
