Hey gang, so I am contemplating a new army. I've been leaning toward Eldar Iyanden (wraith army), but recently the Skitarii and Cult Mechanicus look very appealing.

I've heard it is a very unforgiving army. I'm looking for any advice in starting the army or playing it? Why would someone want to play Admech? Why would someone not want to play Admech?

Skitarii are like Tempestus and Dark Eldar. Except better, because of how allies work. Skitarii can hack Pods so the fact Scions get transports isn't a real advantage, and Dark Eldar don't provide anything that you really can't get out of just using more regular Eldar.
