This came up in a game recently and I will be playing this guy again so Im wondering if you lads would help me out.

My units as usual were getting lit up by Tau gunlines and the only brightside is that he was having a problem killing my Battlewagons. So when my wagons got close enough he told me that his Missile Side suits were firing there Ignores cover whatever missiles and that because of that he was going to shoot the rear of my vehicle. I called BS but I didn't have time to pick up the BRB and search for the rule specifically but I was reasonably sure that you still had to shoot the vehicles side facing you.

Whether that was seeker missiles (using a marker light) or SMS whilst they do ignore cover and do not need line of sight they have no special rules regarding the armour facing that they hit.

Yeah, that was BS.

The new formation, "Optimized Stealth Cadre", allows for the units in it to be resolved 'as if' they are shooting at rear armor. Even so, the shots still originate from whichever facing they are in.

Not exactly... OSC specifically says "... In addition, their weapons are assumed to strike the rear armor of any vehicle that they hit, no matter what its actual facing."

But yeah it sounds like your opponent was wrong if they did in fact use crisis suits to do that.

No missiles in an OSC.
