In the cases of rolling for exploration after each scenario, when it states:

"an undead warband may choose to kill their captives and gain a zombie at no cost"

Would that mean that they gain a skeleton (the only other undead in the warband) or do they gain a zombie?

Doesn't it just straight say you get another zombie in your rules quote?

The thing is, Tomb Guardians (a different undead warband) doesn't receive zombies as a unit choice.

If you happen to roll double 4's (the Straggler) on the exploration table, it says that "Undead warbands can kill the man and gain a Zombie for no cost."

I'm just wondering if I would get a skeleton instead since zombies aren't an option for me.

Sounds like Zombies are a Hard-To-Get option for you now.

I would suggest that while Tomb Guardians are a warband made up of undead models, they're not an Undead Warband - i.e. the specific warband in the core rulebook.
