Hey all. Just recently got into wh40k. Doing a few friendly local league games with a 1250 limit. I didn't want any specific theme for a start. Everything is painted black legion but I'm not using the supplement. Didn't want to use marks but couldn't resist on the bikers. First Army list I've built. Any feedback is appreciated!

You might consider putting terminator armor on your Chaos lord and give him mark of tzeentch for 2+3++ goodness.
Taking veterans of the long war isn't the best idea as he's got ld10 anyway and unless you know you're playing space marines it won't help you.
Drop the size of the cultist squad to find the points for that.

Taking a combi-bolter on your land raider gives it that bit more worth as there's a lesser chance your better weapons get destroyed.

Couple changes to your list without suggesting model swaps (since your tourneys soon and you probably wont want to assemble/paint anything new by then)

Consider taking your lord as a level 3 no-mark sorcerer and taking 3 telepathy powers and a spell familiar. (You can still use the same model, if its the one from dark vengeance he kinda looks like a bad ass sorcerer with a force sword anyway)

This will give you a good chance to get invisibility and shrouding - both will make your army much more durable.

Split the cultists into 2x 10 man squads (unless your plan was to stick the lord/sorcerer in there)

Split your marines into 2x 5 man squads with a meltagun each - this will give you more flexability. Give them mark of nurgle instead of banner this should make them tougher. And each squad a rhino if you have an extra one - remember your rhinos will have objective secured as well. If you have points give your rhinos dozer blades.

Give your havocs autocannons instead of launchers - it is much better for taking out infantry and transports. (Noone should care if you already modeled them with launchers but are counting them as autocannons)
