Hello all and thanks for the add!

I was always a gamer of some kind. I was one of those kids that played D&D in a friend's garage way back in the day. To give you an idea, I had a full set of the 1st Edition AD&D books that were bought new in an actual bookstore, LOL. Of course, life gets in the way and I haven't played table top games in forever, but have always had some kind of gaming system in my house.

I've also been building models of some kind since I was very young. Most recently, I was really into RC Helicopters and flying them (or rather crashing them), but if anyone tells you those run on batteries they are lying. They run on A LOT of cash, which is ultimately why I bailed out. The risk reward ratio was just too high.

I'm currently building and painting my first Space Marine and MAN are those things small! My old eyes need to adjust, but it's a blast so far. I'm learning A TON on Youtube and reading the Citadel painting guides.

I have three young kids and they are very keen to watch how I progress with painting these miniatures, but my son (he's 8 and a half) has been asking a lot of questions about the game itself, so I'm reading and watching as many YouTubes as I can on the subject. I'm not sure I will have loads of time to invest in the game itself, but who knows?

For now, I want to learn to paint these little guys proficiently.

Once again, thanks for the add and I look forward to being part of this community!

Hi. Welcome to Dakka

TheEyeOfNight- I swear, this thread is 70% smack talk, 20% RP organization, and 10% butt jokes
TheEyeOfNight- "Ordo Xenos reports that the Necrons have attained democracy, kamikaze tendencies, and nuclear fission. It's all tits up, sir."
Space Marine flyers are shaped for the greatest possible air resistance so that the air may never defeat the SPACE MARINES!
Sternguard though, those guys are all about kicking ass. They'd chew bubble gum as well, but bubble gum is heretical. Only tau chew gum
