He won the roll to deploy first and put the flyrant in the ruin and deploy the gants in the middle with the warriors on the far right.
I combat squadded the tactical marines with my deployment going combat squad primus with the melta gun in the middle the captain next to them on the right brother corrin on his right and combat squad secundus on.his right. Theres night fight.in play and i sieze the inititive
Turn 1 Celestial Knights
I give Brother Corrin the.sustained fire special rule and he opens up on the warriors but after cover saves were taken i had only managed to do one wound to the warriors. Garrion and combat squad primus advanced forward. Shooting phase wise combat squad secundus and Brother Corrin and combat squad primus all opened up onto the warriors and due to bad wound rolls and good saves on my opponents part i manage to reduce 2 warriors to one wound. My captain opens up on the gants and kills 2 of them with the primarchs wrath.
Tyranids turn 1
The flyrant glides forward while the gants and warriors shuffle along forward struggling to keep up.
Psychic phase
He attempts to use the horror on Garrian but i pass the LD test (phew). I cant remember if he attempts anything else.
Shooting
The shooting phase is relatively effective with the warriors killing a couple of marines from combat squad secundus and they pass both their pinning and morale checks. The tyrant then opens up on the dread killing him (oops) he gets first blood and a kill point

Celestial Knights turn 2
Movement
My captain advances on the gants and tactical squad primus trys to get everyone in a positon where they can shoot the flyrant.
Shooting
Tactical squad secundus opens up the shooting phase and between their bolters and a missile launcher they obliterate the warriors (yayy). The captain kills a couple more gants and combat squad primus's shooting is ineffective on the flyrant due to meh wounding rolls and ruin saves.
Close combat
My captain charges the gants but cuts 2 of them down with the burning blade. They fail to do anything back but are fearless due to synapse. I dont hurt Myself with the blade

Movement phase
The flyrants moves right next to the captains close combat
Psychic phase
Flyrant attempts to the horror combat squad primus but thanks to rites of battle i pass the test (phew).
Assault phase
The flyrant charges into the ongoing combat and i issue a challenge. The flyrant manages to put a single unsaved wound on the captain and i do one to him too but the gants do nothing. Again the blade dosent hurt me.

Movement
Combat squad primus moves towards the combat hoping to charge the gants and help their captain out. Combat squad secundus tactically with draws as they have nothing to do
Assault phase
Combat squad primus fails to make their charge (doh). The captain inflicts 2 more wounds on the flyrant and loses one in return but the nids are fearless due to synapse.
Tyranids turn 3
Movement phase
Non existant as all of his force is in cc.
Psychic phase
He tries to the horror combat squad primus but i pass the test
Assault phase
My captain has a epic fail and hits the tyrant but fails to wound him and the hive tyrant cuts him down (nooo) the flyrant consolidates back into the ruins and the gants go forward

Celestial Knights Turn 4
Movement
Combat squad primus continues their advance forwards towards the gants and are out for blood.
Shooting
Combat squad secundus fires the missile launcher into the back of the flyrant and slays the foul xenos beast which slew their captain (yay). Combat squad primus cuts down a couple of gants with their pistols.
Assault phase
Combat squad primus charges in and loses a guy to over watch. They cut the remaining gants down to 2 models and take no damage in return. The gants pass their morale check

Tyranids turn 4
Straight into the assault phase we go and combat squad primus kills the last 2 gants. Victory to the Celestial Knights via Annhiolation.
Overall thoughts
I actually like the fire spear strike force and in small points games like this its pretty damn powerful. Especially when you combine.sustained fire with bolter drill.
I went on to have a game vs orks which i won a game vs guard which i won another game vs the same nid player which i lost then a further game vs the same nid player which i won.
