Subject: Imperial Fist Tactics???

I thinking about starting an Imperial Fist army, love the lore and the color, but I don't know where to begin. Not sure where to post, so excuse me
So proposed army list would be a captian with a melee weapon of sorts with combimelta, joining a squad of stern guard vets with combimeltas in a razorback. terminator assault squad. 3 squads of tact marines in razorbacks, a stormtalon gunship, and cent dev sqaud.
Would this be decent for FLGS games or just pure poppycock? If you play Imp Fist what tactics do you use?

Few comments on your ideas.
The list seems a bit all over the place. If its just units that you like then that's fine, but it wont be winning you any competitive games.
If you want Sternguard in your army (which is a solid choice for IF), I wouldn't put them in a razorback or attach your HQ to them. I prefer a unit in a drop pod with either Combi-Meltas or Combi-Flamers. This way you can 1st turn kill something since they murderize everything they look at with the combis, or play it defensively on an objective.
Next, the Terminators need a way to get where they're going, or they're a bit of a points sink footslogging 10~ inches a turn.. Mabye a Stormraven instead of a Stormtalon could be a solution.
Thirdly, if you're wanting to go with Tac squads and Centurions, youll want to go a Gladius Strike Force. With what you've shown you like, I would recommend a demi company with a first company task force.
Hope this helps!

So I'll will look into the Demi Company along with the 1st Company Task Force. So what should I do with the Captian, should I run him with a Tact Squad or something else? Is deepstriking Termies still viable?

You might also want to take a peek at Sentinels of Terra. If you're going fornup close and personal style army, reroll to hit in Rapd Fire is better than 1s.
Gladius is still a good way to go and you probably have the best CT for Skyhammer if you decide you want to be more competitive.

One note on Sentinels of Terra, is that it does NOT work with Sternguard Special Ammunition, so if you run a lot of them, you may want to consider standard Bolter Drill. But yes, TL Rapidfire Bolters are quite nice, speaking from experience.
