So although he's a heretic, he's my best friend and I know way more about my Dark Angels than he does about CSM. I was hoping some of you would be able to offer any advice on what to include in his list. He has the models, but I have a hard time myself really understanding the ins and outs of CSM. Daemon Prince, Typhus, Defiler, Obliterators, and that's all I pretty much am familiar with competitively. Any tips would be appreciated greatly.

You can count on two hands what's worth using at even a mediocre level.
1. Crimson Slaughter Nurgle Lords
2. Typhus + Zombies. If you aren't using Zombies, Typhus is mostly outclassed by a generic Lord or Sorcerer
3. Sorcerers with ML3 on bikes
4. Black Mace Princes
5. Maulerfiends
6. Spawn
7. Plague Marines
8. Obliterators
9. Termicide
10. Heldrakes

Ordinarily I'd list Bikers but they're outclassed thanks to the Gorepack formation making them MUCH better. If you add in Forge World units the list gets bigger of course.

Are you looking for list building advice specifically to help him give your Dark Angels a tougher fight, or general list building advice for a 'take all comers' list?

Advice to take all comers. We're both a little confused on the rules. I'm used to reading Space Marine codexes and the chaos rules are completely new to both of us.
