Hi guys, and let this be my first post here In it I'd like to share the background notes that I've penned for my collection of Battle Sisters. Unfortunately, after assembling and painting some 1000 pts of the Order I had to sell all the models, but still I decided to publish this bit of fluff - just in case someone else would try the colour scheme (sky-blue armor, white clothes, gold decorations), so the adventures of the Order could continue...

The youngest of the Orders Militant, the Order of the Scouring Wave has its roots in one of the oldest and most respectable minor Orders Hospitaller - Order of the Dolphin. When most of its sisters were ambushed by a Dark Eldar cabal while on a mission, they ensured that none of them would be disgraced by abduction into the Dark City, and either committed suicide on the place or ferociously fought the foul foes till death. In the wake of this disaster, the order remained only one-fifth of its initial strength, and its further existence as that of an independent Order was put under question. However, the remaining members were so infuriated by the villainy of the vile xenos that they swore to avenge their fallen sisters and requested a conversion of their Order Hospitaller into an Order Militant. In grief and righteous anger, the women abandoned their healing skills and instruments, taking arms instead; such was their honorable record of serving the Imperium, and so insistent were their pleas, that the Ecclesiarchy made no hindrance, and the Order of the Scouring Wave was born. It was deemed right to retain their banner with a dolphin on the crest of a sky-blue wave, and to paint their power armor also sky-blue. Now these familiar signs of the order’s identity acquired a new meaning: the battle sisters would now descend upon their foes as a blue tidal wave and cleanse the Emperor’s domain by utterly vanquishing them. This philosophy found reflection also in the preferred tactics of the new order: its share of Sisters Seraphim in the ranks is considerably higher than that in other orders, and the order’s strikeforces rely predominantly on these speedy angelic warriors washing away the opposition like a tsunami from above. The lightning-fast nature of the order’s warfare has already proved successful in several swift and merciless responses to Dark Eldar attacks. Certainly, the beginning of a new Order Militant was overseen by seasoned veterans of other Adepta Sororitas, and even of the Imperial Guard who helped organize an intensive training course for their revered former healers. The Order of the Scouring Wave received, among other welcome gifts, several Exorcist battle tanks of the Sanctorum pattern and an Avenger air fighter which would provide heavy support for the light attacking squads. The Avenger’s hull, already painted sky blue, was signed by an entire platoon of grateful guardsmen.
The sisters of the Order of the Scouring Wave are always vigilant for any desperate call for help or enemy activity – in this case they rush to aid the suffering ones like a dolphin, and truly wipe away all stains of darkness like a scouring wave. It is due to both the young age of the Order and the purity of its spirit that the sisters’ battle ranks so far have never featured any Sisters Repentia nor Penitent Engines, - this fact makes this minor Order unique among all faithful servants of the Emperor, and so be it for His eternal glory!

Looking good so far, you make them sound feminine without being Mary Sues. Are you planning to write any fiction based on the Sisters?

Upcoming work for 2022:

* Battle Sisters story (untitled)
* T'au story: Full Metal Fury
* 20K: On Eagles' Wings

Thanx for the remark) As of now, I'm not really planning to dig deeper into the SoB stuff - while they're cool overall, I can't imagine a Sister character which would be complex and controversial enough to interest me in the long run. In these terms the best one could hope for is, I think, the protagonist in "Faith and Fire" by Swallow, but it's already written Right now I'm translating into English my sketch about a Necron overlord, but it's going slowly due to other commitments...
