Hey guys - I have two fleets I am trying out but need help with the objectives. Both are below and focus on lots of dice and rerolls. What do you think would fit best with each one?

For the imperial fleet....

With four raiders, you don't want a stand-up fight.

The objectives which benefit having superior numbers are Most Wanted and Opening Salvo. The problem with Opening Salvo is that it means you're likely to take nasty punishment from concentrated red dice before you can reply effectively, so I'd suggest Most Wanted. Raiders are good at hunting down a target that wants to stay out of the fight.

Superior Positions is a good navigation objective because it rewards flanking someone.

If you want to play aggressively for the defence objective, fleet ambush works well - with raiders you should be on the enemy's flanks or rear from turn 1, and firing missiles from turn 2.

Vader is also going to be spending your defence tokens on attacks, so you are indirectly getting more fragile ships.

I wouldn't pair Avenger and Overload Pulse;

I'm not 1005 certain, but I'd check the timings in the rulebook - you need to get the critical effect through to trigger Overload Pulse, which I believe happens when resolving the damage step. I believe Defence tokens get spent before this - so the Avenger can't knock out the targets tokens for itself - you want someone else to do it for you.

Avenger is an awesome title, but you need the ship with it to be going last, so someone else can pound on your target first.



For the Rebel Fleet.....

Defence and Navigation objectives - I'd recommend the same. If you wanted Dangerous Territory could be quite good, especially if you use the last two points to make one corvette Jaina's Light (but then you'd be on 400 points and unlikely to be the one with choice of missions).

Ackbar and a load of light warships, by comparison, pack many, many red dice. Opening Salvo lets you capitalize on this by inflicting maximum hurt in the turn where only red dice are firing and evade tokens (which you have and enemy heavies don't) are at their most effective.

Between Opening Salvo, Concentrate Fire and Ackbar, even a lowly corvette can fling 6 red dice in a broadside!

Awesome! Thank you for taking the time to write such an awesome reply.

Im a big fan of Most Wanted, Opening Salvo is nice, but you have to take a huge punch in return. So Most wanted is priority here.

Love Fleet Ambush and Superior Positions for sure, those are going in.

You are correct on the timing with the Avenger title, but I feel with the Vader re-rolls you can pretty much guarantee a blue critical will get through with targeting icons (I like to play the odds).

For the Rebel objectives - pretty much the same as above. If I can get the MC30s to jump on from light speed, those rear arcs on enemy ships will crumple.
