Hey Dakka,
As a chaos marine player, ive grown weary of not playing with actual marines so I've decided to try using my chaos as a count-as army with the SW wolves. It fits my armies personal fluff pretty well (not the wolfy bits, but the organization).
Not knowing much about how to wolf properly, im asking for your advice on making a basic and simple starting force, something to use to get the hang of the puppies.
On that note, i would very much like to actually use drop pods, land speeders, lone wolves, and Bjorn but am unsure what else to add on without getting lost and spending too much in wargear.
For now, I'd like to stay away from thunderwolf cavalry, unless of course its a "must buy" of sorts, because im not that big of a fan of death stars.
Any help appreciated! Thank you in advance.

FWI spacewolves are about to get a campaign book that will at a minimum add a new unit. If it's anything like the tau one it will likely include other updates and formations.

That said Grey Hunters are the core of the army and a unit or two of them and either pods or rhinos is a good start to any SW army.

MSU grey hunter squads with special weapons in drop pods can be problem solvers. Long Fangs make great rear-guard heavy weapons support. Thunderwolves are your problem solver units, and helfrost weapons are hilariously powerful and mounted on decent platforms (dreadnoughts).

Wait for the upcoming supplement (it should only be a week or two off) but Space Wolves have a lot of fun toys, which is probably why they're not griping as hard as Blood Angels at the new gold standard of power armor (the new SM codex).

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

When I'm editing alot, you know I have a gakload of homework to (not) do.
