Hey guys,

Recently started painting and collecting again after taking a break. I picked up the AoS starter set. Liked the models and it's a game I may want to get into. One thing that I've not encountered before in the guide I'd like some help clarifying. I'll attach a picture of the page in question to see if any of you guys can explain it to me. The bit in question is the 3 stage layer/highlight and 2 stage wash. Not something I've seen before. The images aren't brilliant so it's difficult to see what changes each time. Using a youtube video I'm fine from steps 1 to 3. After that I'm unsure if I'm getting the idea right. Would I use Agrax Earthshade and only apply it over the areas that are already the darkest, then layer Liberator gold leaving some of the Auric gold armour showing and then use runefang steel just for edge highlights. Am I on the right track there?

Basically, yes.

Retributor gold everywhere
Reikland everywhere
Auric everywhere EXCEPT the recesses
Agrax only to the recesses
Liberator to most of the armor
Runefang to the edges
