Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-)

Yep, the sling shields work as your latter example, the whole unit gets to roll not just the models closest.

I think it's pretty hard to go wrong with their loadouts. I do love rend but the easier wound with the axe is useful too. The double axe giving all missed hits re-rolls is quite powerful, better than the usual re-roll 1s.

Would be Axes and Shields for me too, for a nice save which can be combined with the fine synergy buff of the Battlesmith.

About the ruling of the shields, I'd say definately enough with one model within 1/2" to let you roll for all models in the unit. Would be pretty bad otherwise, and it gives the entire unit an offensive bonus in a turn in which they charge, and a defensive one when they don't charge so kind of makes sense.

Yeah i don't know, the axes definitely look better but i like the rend on the picks, one thing for sure the shields are definitely a lock in

Looking at them its a tough choice but if I was to make some I would go with rend, in smaller units id rather they kill what they hit, now it this was like my clan rats i would take axes just cause so many are swinging.

Shields is also what id go for aswell.

I would sign this contract but I already ate the potato

Oh man, I can't wait to get mine. It's going to be picks and shields for me.
