Do servo skulls count towards having models on the table for the purposes of not auto loosing the game if you have an entire army in reserve?

Servo skulls are not models for several reasons, one of which is they don't have a characteristic profile.
If all you have is skulls on the table, you lose at the end of the game turn.

Negative you no longer lose a game for a zero deployment army. 7th changed that. So it's possible

If all your army is in Reserve and none can come in on Turn 1, than it would be auto-lose.

The inquisition codex states "Servo Skulls are treated as counters, rather than units, for all intents and purposes". So if you didn't have deepstrikers on your first turn, you would still lose.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

You do not loose for having nothing deployed at the beginning or end of your player turn, but if you do not have units on the table at the end of the first round, you loose the game.

Zero-Deployment with e.g. Drop Pod Assault is quite possible, but you still have to bring units on the table and KEEP them on the table.

And Servo Skulls are explicitly called "not units", so they never count.

Ok, thanks for the replies.

Alright, I'll throw another one out there. Does a fortification count?

I'm really looking for all reserves coming in on second turn.

fortifications that are capturable, such as bunkers, count as units for your side until someone steals them. So yeah, you can gamble that your opponent won't be able to steal or blow up your fortification on turn 1 in order to use reserves on turn 2. It's a bit of a risk though since a lot of armies can easily blow up a bunker or bastion on turn 1 if it means winning the game.

Ones purchased for your army also count as units, too. They don't have to be captured in deployment.

Sorry if I wasn't clear but that is what I meant. Fortifications purchased for your army count as units for your army until someone steals them or blows them up.

Did they remove the blurb about buildings not counting as units for determining whether or not you have any units on the table?

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

I'm not seeing anything stating that.

Spoiler:

- At the start of the game, all buildings that were taken as part of a player's army are "claimed" by the owning player...
- A claimed building is a unit in the controlling player's army and will remain so, even if it later becomes unoccupied, until the building is either destroyed or claimed by an enemy.

These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.
