1d4chan is a terrible source for strategy to be honest. I highly recommend against it because they don't grasp even some of the basics, and some of the articles can be VERY outdated.

In the absence of experience against other good players who also want to play competitive army lists (the best way to get better), listening to podcasts or watching youtube battle reports CAN help a bit.
