I'm pretty much new to almost everything in this hobby, though I started collecting and painting Space Marines and other models from the Lord of the Rings range many years ago, I want to say back in December 2009. Thinking about it, that means I'm not that new to the hobby, huh? I've only just begun to do battles with a friend of mine, so both of us are learning/ relearning the rules and such. My friend used to play Necrons back in 5th edition, I think. He is now collecting Chaos marines, while I'm playing as Dark Angels. Funny how we chose the two armies that absolutely hate each other.

Anyway, a little about myself. I live in Idaho, USA and am currently going into my third semester of college, studying for Music Education. I play the trumpet.
How I got into this hobby was because of a dream I had to recreate the battle of Helm's Deep. I eventually found the models made by GW, and my friends who saw this introduced me to WH40K. I loved the look of the space marines so a tactical squad was the first purchase I made. Now I have a sizable army around 4000 points or so. I really want to collect an army for tyranids and for the Death Korps of Krieg. I love horde armies, I guess you could say.

I plan on starting a WIP thread if there's a place for that so I can show off what I'm working on. I'm also interested in getting tactical advice because I'm not very good at that, and my opponent is almost too good. I have yet to beat him in a battle.

So that's me in a nut shell. I hope to learn lots from this site!

The Helms Deep setup I saw at Warhammer World in Notts as a kid pretty much sparked my love for this hobby ^^ Hope you get the advice you're after and have a great time on the forums.

If you're just starting, don't be trying to play with all your 4000 points at once! You'll be there all weekend and it'll drive you nuts...
