Being in china I can't get my hands in the new tau codex. Is it worth buying in digital form? Is the enhanced edition worth it and what's so special about It? Does it update when a new edition or fqa comes out? Etc.

Enhanced Edition is fairly nice in that you can click on some entries such as weapons to quickly reference profiles and special rules. Some of the images of the models have a 360 view similar to that on GW's website. No idea about updates because GW seems very reluctant to FAQ anything anymore. Digital is probably the cheapest way to legally get the codex (the gamer edition in particular) and its nice to be able to pull up the rules at anytime with your phone or tablet. When referencing things in the middle of a game its quicker to use a book but the enhanced edition is decently practical, particularly when you need to look up what a USR on a weapon or unit profile does.

In the States if you get your digital codexs through apple you can share them with your apple "family" so they can download them to their devices legally as well. You can quite easily add a friend's account to your "family" so they can have access to those codexes as well. Not sure what apple's policy is in other countries so it might not be an option in your country.

The digital editions get updated fairly often; but not because of FAQs/errata. They fix issues with context and the like when they find them.

Enhanced Editions are pretty nice for the reasons Vankraken stated: convenience.

Are the non-Apple Codex Editions that similar to the Apple Enhanced Editions? I expect they are cut-down with the fluff taken out, and nothing enhanced about them.
I tried the example of the 'Codex' version of the rulebook on my Android and PC, and the text size was messed up on both.

The version with the fluff taken out is the Gamer Edition which they started publishing a few weeks ago. The standard edition which is an ebook without any of the quick links and interactive functionality is an epub (which I assume is a fairly universal ebook format) and also has a format for kindle (.mobi I think?). The enhanced version which has all the quick links and some added image features like 360 model view (similar or same 360 viewer on the GW webstore ) I think is only for ipads and certain iphones. I got my standard digital Ork codex from the Black Library site and it seems the same as a standard codex you get from the apple store.

I got my names muddled up, and hoped the Gamer Edition was more like Enhanced.
So, Apple has the full-on useful Enhanced version, and Android and PCs (and everything else) gets standard or rules-only Gamer versions.
It's all in the price then. Is the Gamer edition that much cheaper to warrant the expense?

Looking at the Black Library it appears that the Gamer's Edition actually has all the enhanced links like the Enhanced Edition but lacks the fluff. Gamers Edition is listed as $24 while a standard digital codex is $36 and the enhanced is $50

So I got the cadian suppliment (cheaper as a test) I'm very impressed if I'm honest. Sad thing is that I do like my hardcover books!
