I have
50 guardians w/rifles w/5 platforms
10 WG 5x scythes 5x cannons
1 wave serpant
1 wraithknight
6 scatter bikes
1 farseer on bike
3x war walkers

I like to mix things up and bring lists that are unique but also don't like to get creamed. My goal is to be able to bring 2000 points and never repeat the same army over and over again because that's pretty boring. What should I go for?

If we fail to anticipate the unforeseen or expect the unexpected in a universe of infinite possibilities, we may find ourselves at the mercy of anyone or anything that cannot be programmed, categorized or easily referenced.

Eldar are in a good spot, where you can take almost anything and still do OK. So what do you want?

If you want to mix things up, you might want to get more HQs.

A selection of aspect warriors would break up the guardian/wraith collection you have now.

Tanks, and more WS, would let you play mech lists.

Look into the formations, use them as guidance.

I like the vauls wrath D cannons - but can't figure out what kind of army they would work good with. Like a gun line maybe? Still very short ranged and immobile.

I also like fire-prisms but they just don't seem very strong. Where WG just seem to do everything they do better.

Can running a ton of guardians with warlock support and an avatar work? Sounds fun.

The D cannons are not that expensive and mark off a chunk of the table as yours. Stray too close, and get zotted. A little out of place, as most of the Eldar army is flighty as all get out, but they make a nice anchor. Not used them personally, but they seem alright.

It’s not that fire prisms are terrible, but other things do their job better. There is a lot of that in the codex. In a book that contains criminally underpriced WKs and scatbike span, why spend points on the prism? While single lance shots might not be as effective as D weapons or stripping HPs, it can still work for AV. Plus you can switch over to a pie plate that will vaporize MEQ. It’s the next thing on my Eldar to-buy list, but I’ve got a soft spot for grav armor. YMMV.

If you look around, footdar still has some supporters. Again, with bikes being as good as they are, you can ask “why?” “It looks cool and I want to” is a perfectly valid answer though. If you do want to go that route, I’d strongly recommend looking into the Warhost formation with the guardian battlehost.

Get even more Scatterbikes.

Bearing in mind it's going to be very difficult to get creamed as eldar, ever thought of trying a more melee-centric list?

Could try a force of scorpions/wraithblades with an avatar and Karandaras. Scorpions are actually very good (in my opinion at least) and if you put in a farseer and are able to get fortune, they can be ridiculously resilient (2+ rerollable cover save resilient).

Karandaras and the scorpion exarchs will shred most things they face in a challenge, even more so with Avatar support.

To be fair, I've never tried it but it sounds like a pretty cool idea to me.

If that isn't your bag, you can't go wrong getting aspect warriors. At the moment you don't seem to have any, and their different skills and colours give each of them a unique flavour. If you're going straight competetive, get warp spiders first, they're quite frankly overpowered. If that's not the case, any of the others are good, with banshees/spears being bottom of the heap. Could try getting one squad of each warrior and going from there.
