Since Warseer seems to be down, I guess I'm moving on to Dakka now. Kind of funny since I started my thread on Warseer ages ago because Tactical Command was down. Anyway, introductions. I'm Vaaish and I tend to do a lot of painting across 40k, Epic, Battlefleet Gothic, and Battletech. This thread is all the stuff I've managed to finish up. I hope you enjoy it!

I finished up some epic 40k land raiders to replace some of my older painted ones since they no longer fit with the rest of the army due to me improving my painting skills since I did them. They were some of the first models I painted for epic, and I guess in a way it's fitting that they are some of the first I post here.

Oooh, very nice.

Buried somewhere in my "to-do" list is a plan to repaint the contents of the Epic 40,000 box set as Imperial Fists. This has perhaps nudged that plan a couple of steps up the list.

Thanks folks!

@Andrew: If you do repaint them, I'd suggest clipping off the "site" on the tops of the lascannons and adjusting the position so they point straight ahead rather than the "give me a hug" position they have by default. Greatly improves the overall look of the model.

Finished up the last of the custom 30k preds for a client today. Just one more Land Raider to go to finish out the set. I tried to go with the more realistic flames than the more cartoony modern ones. I have mixed feelings on the result.

Wowsers - excellent work, especially considering the scale.

Hey Winter, haven't seen you since Relic News dropped off the radar. Good to see you around.

I finished out the last of the 30k custom sculpts today, this one as Death Guard. I'm also putting up a group shot of all of them together. Interesting note: The grayer blacks on the Iron Fist Fellblade and Pred are GW's offering while the darker and richer blacks on everything else is the Vallejo. I hope you like it.

Just in time to finish out this guy out by the end of February thanks to Leap Year, here's my second Cron pylon. This guy is a bit of a mixed result for me. The first one, and most of my cron force, was painted several years ago and I've improved considerably since then. For the original there was a lot of drybrushing and washes that worked well partly because there was more tooth to the primer I was using at the time. I wanted to match the look so I tried to duplicate the process and it didn't work out quite as well. All in all the Pylon looks ok, but I should have just painted it the way I do now and I think the end would have been much better.

I'm a slow painter, but these guys mark the final piece of the my epic scale IF army. At least until I decide to repaint my thunderhawks. However, with these Land Raiders finished, I'm calling the army finished for a good while now. I'll try to get an army shot together at some point. Enjoy!

They were custom sculpts a client of mine sent up. Couldn't tell you where they originated. Sorry.

Join the epic community on http://www.taccmd.tacticalwargames.net/ and get to know some fellow players - its such a small community and they are produced on a client to client basis.

I'm on a 10mm DZC binge the past year and the detail on these models at an even smaller scale is breathtaking

Fantastic work. I feel confident in saying you paint better at 6mm scale than most of us do at 28mm.

The yellow is lush. How did you achieve it?

Sorry, I didn't get notifications and didn't see your question. The yellow is simple/hard

Basically I prime the model white, slosh on an even coat of Vallejo Flat Yellow ( Yellow tends to be a more transparent color so the white makes a much stronger tone). The next step is to put a few coats of Delvan mud or Army Painter strong tone on it to build up shadows. Then it's on to building up the midtones again with flat yellow and a touch of red. Last step is the white edge highlights and a glaze of flat yellow to tone it.

Finished up a few more AdMech bots for a commission. These are some custom 6mm sculpts of the Mechanicum robots. This also marks my first trial of pigments for basing. I'd have preferred something that contrasted better but I ordered the wrong pigments

These are great, you've managed to cram in a lot of detail, no easy feat for such a small scale. Big fan of Epic stuff.

Thanks! I mostly prefer the 6mm scale. Fun to paint and takes up less space than the 28mm stuff. The game play is better than 40k in my opinion too.

Thanks, but these aren't things I've purchased. They are custom sculpts a client sent me to paint for him.

Finally got a full army shot together of my Imperial Fists. This is one of the first armies I started for Epic and there's a pretty wide range of quality here with the infantry and Thunderhawks being the worst. Hope you like it!

Holy crap! That is a fantastic looking army! I am envious.
