Forge World/Imperial Armor rules are not allowed. Forgeworld models can be used to represent appropriate models from a legal army (ie a Contemptor Dreadnaught could represent a regular/ironclad Dreadnaught etc).

Stop doing this. We're long past the point where there is no legitimate argument against including FW rules, and any tournament or TO that bans them should be blacklisted by the community.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

Out of my Mind

Kind of wish that I was still in New Zealand for this.

Stretching it over the course of 6 weeks might make it rough for players to stick with it, but great for those who can't make a one day event.

1 - I might have missed it, but I didn't see how you're handling players repeating games against each other? How big is the player base? Or are you still planning on doing pairings and the paired players have to work out when they play? I got the impression that you're going to allow players to find their own opponents, even making exceptions for those outside the event to participate.

2 - Love the CAD only. Do you find many players complaining about this? I'm in the camp that if you want to have a 'Competetive' event, you need to eliminate the freebies provided by Slates/Formations/'Decurion' style stuff. I get a lot of resistance though, so just curious.

3 - At this points level, with the Restrictions, why are you not allowing Unbound? I'm asking not for game breaking potential, but as a way to include Harlequins and AdMech? This is an issue I'm having with planning my events.

4 - Repeating Troops makes sense at Higher point levels, but at the 1k level do you find many armies needing that? Is there an army that can't field 1000 pts without doubling up on Troops? You've gone one step further by saying they have to be equipped differently. What about units that don't have that option? Like Necron Warriors and Gretchin for example?

5 - Again, depends on your player base, but are there modifiers to differentiate between winners? Are you planning on having an undefeated player by the end of it? Or having a mini 'Finals' tournament between the top 4?

STOP doing this!!! There are PLENTY of legitimate reasons to not allow Forgeworld. I'll agree that we're long past hearing about this crusade to force every event, everywhere, to allow FW. Players that knock events, especially ones that they have no intention of attending, need to just stop it.

There is still a good number of players out there who feel that FW has no place outside of friendly games. Fewer still are the players who can't make a list without FW, when most just roll with it. I've only been to 1 non FW event where one guy complained, and it turned out he wasn't even in the event. He just showed up to 'Watch' and was quite vocal about the FW thing and how he'd take the event if it were allowed. Even in the face of all the people who were okay with it, he insisted his way.

Not everyone plays 40k the same. I'll probably never attend another ITC event. I don't care for Forgeworld, and would be quite content if I never saw any Supers/Gargs/LoW in any game again. I'd like to see more Maelstrom events, and I can go either way on the CAD/Formation/Unbound debate.

When an event comes along, that finally appeals to players with a different mindset, especially when it comes to FW, you can bend your style as much as they have to yours.

There are not.

Too bad. Those players are wrong, to put it politely. And they need to STFU and stop ruining the game for everyone else.

Fewer still are the players who can't make a list without FW, when most just roll with it.

Most people can make a list without boyz, but that doesn't mean it should be ok to ban boyz just because the TO feels like it.
