The Siege Specialist skill specifies that models with it only set off a mine on a roll of 6. I don't think there is any debate that this works against Castellan missle minefields but when you consider an Iron Warrior army, it changes things a bit.

To quote the Chaos Codex Page 41 "every model will automatically have the Siege Specialist skill". This overrides the usual restriction of only infantry being able to take it. So what happens when an Iron Warriors Predator drives over a Castellan minefield? By my reading, rather than being hit to rear armour on a 4+, it is only hit on a 6.

What say you?

Nobody cares? I know it's a relatively obscure situation but I thought there might be some interest since I have NEVER seen it discussed. Ah well, I'll go with my interpretation if no one disagrees.

I think you are totally right. I don't know how anyone could come to another conclusion.

So yep, Iron Warriors are super dope against Castellian Mines.

yakface's 40K rule #1: Although the rules allow you to use modeling to your advantage, how badly do you need to win your toy soldier games?
yakface's 40K rule #2: Friends don't let friends start a MEQ army.
yakface's 40K rule #3: Codex does not ALWAYS trump the rulebook, so please don't say that!

It says all models, so yeah a predator would only set it off on a 6. I guess the Ironwarriors know how to drive through a mine field... Capt K
