I haven't seen any threads for this game yet, so here goes!
If anyone else plays it I would love to discuss tactics, ranks and professional games here. So, Cloud9 vs Ex-Titan (G2). Who'll win? My heart says Cloud9, my mind says Ex-Titan mostly after them steam rolling NiP.
Also, what ranks were you before the rank shuffle? I was MG2, Now I'm a GN2...

Hey, I have owned the game for a while and got my self ranked to 3 for comp but then stopped playing while I moved. I just started playing again after the long break and had played my first two competitive games ever the other day.

I have to say, Competitive is a lot of fun as is the game in general. I play anywhere from 16-30 FPS on my potatoe and have the worst K/D of anyone but it is still fun. I tried my best to give call-outs and draw fire for my team, even got a few picks here and there.

If anyone plays around 10pm EST then I might be able to chill with you, just don't expect me to do anything but need carrying until I get sprays and locations down.

I just played my 3rd/4th games of Comp tonight, I was pretty bad still but had a blast. I have been playing with my Napoleonic Wars Regiment.

In the 4th game, my entire team rage-quitted but I managed to win three rounds before my inevitable defeat! Cheeky plays on Dust II carried the day for me: one involved smoking mid, dashing through catwalk and picking their Long A AWPer, after than I planted the bomb and had a heart attack as I warded off the enemy team from the bombsite despite my bot friends dying left and right!!

This game is so hard, but so fun. If you haven't played it, give it a shot. My favourite gun so far is the M4 Silenced Rifle with the Nova coming in second and tying with the USP.

I just picked it up, haven't played CS in close to 10 years. I'm getting back into the groove of it though. Might have to link up with you for some games

CS:GO more like CS:NO amirite?

Played 4 hours, went back to tf2, not enough hats.

But if I had interesting friends that played it I may pick it up again.

Hey! I should be getting a better PC soon when I hit college, hopefully it should get me to 60 FPS. All my settings are at low, haha! I am unranked at the moment, I think I need 10 wins and I may have only gotten one. I am pretty sure I have gotten none because my first playgroup kept abandoning me.

Don't worry! Just play a few games and find some people you enjoy playing with.

I just finished a game, we went 15-3, and started choking until we hit 16-9. I really need to work on my peeking, I got killed three times because I was to aggressive.

I have a hard time throwing good flashes and 'nades. I played a game last night, let down my team again and we went 4-16. I can proudly say that half of our wins were due to miracle clutches by me!

I was pretty excited to see Liquid beat Fnatic and get to the Grand finals.

Yeah, seeing an NA team in the finals is nice, although it was obvious LG was going to win.

Trust me, as long as you practice, you'll learn your nades. Practice popflashing and remember that if you're in front of the flash you won't get flashed.

Found a group of incompetent people to play with on a deathmatch server. We lost 4 games of comp in a row but man did we have fun doing it.

Thats about how my last competitive match went. When we realized we were going to lose we just decided to have fun and screw with the other team. We bum rushed with knives one round, even got a kill. One round we all immolated ourselves while asking the other team for forgiveness. Best game ever, even if I went 6-27

Got my first Competitive win ever! Went 9:0 due to their surrendering. If there is one thing the Silver Meta grants me is the chance that if we do well a couple rounds in a row we win automatically.

I've actually encountered a better class of people playing competitive. Not a fan of the fact that i suck and you are locked into the match, but there's so much more trash talking in casual.

How is this game handling cheating/bots? I never got into it because of all the problems with CS and CS Source.

Cheating is a big issue. In higher ranks some poeple say they meet a cheater everyday. Valve did release Peime, where you link your account to your phone, which did remove a lot of them, but their anti cheat is still bad.

As an unranked player at 4 wins, I have not encountered any cheaters except maybe one.

CS has problems with cheaters because it has the reputation of the "game to hack" or the idea that "1337 hackers play CS". Overwatch, for example, doesn't have cheaters (yet) because it doesn't have a reputation in the "hacker/cheater community".

I came across a wall hack in my first competitive match, and we all reported him and the other team kicked him, even though it cost them the match. So yeah, people hack still, but its dealt with pretty quickly.

This might help y'all weed out hackers

Back in the mists of time when the world was young I used to play CS and then CS source. I wasn't great but I was reasonably proficient. I tried CS source a wee while ago and I am now horrendously terrible.
I just can't play twitch games anymore it would seem

Speaking of knife fighting, my last casual match I went 6-8, and one stupid kid talked trash on me the whole time. We were sent into the next match together, and I made it my personal goal to knife him. I went 2-10, but my second kill was the satisfying sound of my knife getting him in the head from behind. He called me on hacks, but the whole room was cheering for me. I need more friends lol
