So, did a bit of shopping and got my hands on the Empire free company militia box, along with quite a few nice Reaper minis. Figured, "hey, why not start Pirates, Undead and possibly mercs at the same time?" So I did. And my wallet hates me for it but i got models, so it's all ok.
Anywho, i built a small (undead) pirate warband that i can use both as undead and pirates.
Here's the pirate list:

Cap'n @ 107
w/ duelling pistol, hard leather & cutlass

1stMate @ 112
w/ brace duelling pistols, cutlass, hard leather

2ndMate @ 62
w/ hard leather & 2 cutlass

cabin boy @ 18
w/ mace

cabin boy @ 15
w/ widdle fwee dagger

Boatswain @ 59
w/ axe, pistol & hard leather

2 crew @ 70
w/ cutlass

gunner @ 55
w/ blunderbuss

Total @ 498

Everyone is expected to have a dagger, so i don't bother putting those in. Any thoughts, hints, tips & tricks i should know about? Once again I'm going for a fluffier warband, i'm a sucker for fluffy armies, so any advanced meta is welcomed but probably not implemented. i.e. i'm not even touching bows or crossbows.
Also, any thoughts on the swivel gun? My Cap'n is Reaper limited Sophie, so i gotta get dat cannon. You know why
EDIT: Grammar fixes. Also, we play gentlemen's mordheim, so the axe will come in handy

A good story makes a good game.

I played a slaanesh-pirate themed warband (as Marienburg rules) and won a local campaign. What I found worked very good was plenty of cheap grunts with just a cutlass or a mace and a few with blunderbusses. Armor is hardly ever worth it.

Move in a somewhat tight group. If your enemy bunch up, blunderbuss them. If they spread out, gang up on them. After a few games you will see who gains useful skills and who dies, then you can start buying equipment accordingly.

I'd love to see a pic of your warband :-)
