So I'd like to start a 30k legion and I have decided I love Night Lords. I know the majority of the people I will be playing will not be forgiving so I'm
trying to come up with something at least approximating a good list and was hoping for some feedback. The one rule for this army though is that I
don't like terror squads as I feel they are too small and will struggle to get the talent for murder bonus (although do correct me if I'm wrong).

Troops
- Tactical Squad (20) - Additional CCW, Legion Vexilla, Sergeant; Artificer Armour, Nostraman Chainglaive
- Tactical Squad (20) - Additional CCW, Legion Vexilla, Sergeant; Artificer Armour, Nostraman Chainglaive
- Tactical Squad (20) - Replace Bolter with CCW, Legion Vexilla, Sergeant; Artificer Armour, Nostraman Chainglaive (Riding in spartan w/ Praetor)

- Apothecarian Detachment (3) - All with artificer armour (One in each tactical squad), The two footsloggers have augury scanners, The guy in the spartan has a power sword

2000 Points total, any thoughts?

well, if you want to go for the most oomph, drop the archeotech pistol, and take a power fist to go with your paragon blade (2 specialist weapons ftw)! Beyond that, looks good.

Are you playing against 30k or 40k? because that trophy may not be as good as it seems. also, what RoW are you using?

he doesn't need a RoW (and it looks like he didn't choose one, though I may be wrong)

My opponents will be other 30k legions, maybe with some solar auxilia. If I was against 40k I wouldn't have taken the trophy due to heavy ATSKNF and fearless. As for a RoW, I'm not. I had considered terror assault but as I said, I feel the terror squads are too small.

Add the auspix scanner things to your apothecaries to give your squads intercept. Fun to drop 40 rapid firing bolters on someone who drops too close to you. Then you charge whats left the next turn.

Drop the archeotech pistol. You're blade is a specialist weapon, and you rarely use the pistol, that should open up the points to give 2/3 of the apothecaries an augury scanner (it really is for that bubble of no intercept, and the ability to intercept deepstrikers) with the extra 10 points or so you would have, use those to give the apothecary in the stabby squad a power weapon or other CCW since he basically acts as a second srgt. By extention, this means putting your regular srgt. in artificer up front to eat bullets is a fairly wise option.

I keep him cheap and just give him a scanner. But soooo worth the 5 points. Played a game a month or so ago and the scanners were a huge part of winning when his Dark angels kept drop podding or jump pack DSing all over me. They never fired a normal round of shooting all game until the very last turn when the 20ish man squad redundantly fury of legioned at rapid fire range 2 lone marines that somehow survived everything else. I always give any one who has the option a scanner. 5 of the best points you can spend.
