I am currently building a Nurgle Plague tower, its a superheavy transport with a capacity of 30 models. It is not open topped, and has no firing points. I plan on using it in an apoc game where I will be playing Renegades and heretics, but also will have some daemons, and possibly CSM.

My original plan was to just crap 30 plague zombies inside and keep it cheap. They wont be able to assault the turn they get out, so oh well. Then I started thinking about obliterators. I could drive up the field, drop oblits out in melta, or heavy flamer range. plopping out 15 individual oblits to be a pest all over the field.

If it isn't open topped or at least has firing points, I just don't see the point of putting anything in it outside of Zombies.

I thought there were 10 firing points?

Yeah looked and it has 10 firing points and units can disembark from anywhere.

Is it open-topped or an assault vehicle though?

If not, camping Autocannon Havocs on there would be an okay idea. 230 points gets bodies to maybe throw on an objective last minute and add 8 BS4 S7 shots on top.

Not an assault vehicle or open topped. I would usually use havocs like you said. Two squads so they have more fire options and put someone that can repair in it and watch it take forever to die with it's 14 front and 18 hull points.

You are 100% correct, I completely missed that. 10 firing points in the hull. I guess that means that it has 10 firing points that are anywhere on the vehicle. I forgot autocannon havoks existed, thats a pretty good option too!

And don't forget that the vehicle gets melee attacks in CC! : P

Wouldn't the vehicle moving make the havoks snap fire? I couldn't find anything in the BrB that states a superheavy doesn't count as moving for the passengers inside. If it doesn't, what about exaulted flamers? I could plop 10 of them in for some torrent goodness. Sure it isn't crazy range, but 12" move on the vehicle, and 10 torrent flamers would be pretty awesome, fits well with the theme of the tank too!

Yup, snap fire on havocs - I meant to say oblits (mix the names up and call havocs heavy weapon squads, lol)
Though a squad of havocs or chosen with flamers would give it even more anti assault goodness.
