Hello dakka people, new user but long time lurker here.

Have been playing AoS since release but for some reason this has only just occured to me. When a unit that is weakened by the amount of wounds suffered are these wounds 'healed' if it has the ability to do so? I always thought this was the case until I read the High Elf Lord on Griffon scroll which has '10+ wounds suffered' on its damage table when it has only 10 wounds total. Sorry if this has been done already, I did do a quick search but couldn't see a thread. Thanks!

I would say yes - seems pretty odd that a model could heal wounds but didn't recover any abilities related to wound total.

Otherwise it's not really healing?

Edit: I guess it could be a catch-all for situations where an ability might allow a model to have 'negative' wounds for a period without being killed.

This came up in a discussion soon after release. The wording for healing says something like "treat the wounds as if they never occurred" or some such. I originally assumed that damage taken meant loss of profile remained, but it was shown to be not the case, and the 10+ etc on wounds is presumable there for any abilities that may become present to raise wounds.
