Subject: Old edition battleforces and boxsets -- How much are they worth?

So I just realised last night that my brother has a 4th edition Ork's battleforce, with 20 boyz, a truck, bikes and I think Nobz as well. Its even still sealed in the celophane. The lad doesn't want the thing, he's even willing to sell me the box for £50 and he has Nobs and Stormboyz as well, as well as some partially painted Black Reach Orks. Just wondering if any of these, particularly the battleforce, is worth any money worth noting? As cool as an ork army would be to paint and build, to contrast my clean red Marines and silver and red Grey Knights, bloody Khorne army or red Nids, if the set is worth like, £100 or something spectacular like that these days, I'd be convinced to part with it.

Like many things in life it is worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it.

If you mean if it appreciated in value, probably not. GW items rarely go up in value (and the ones that do are inevitably old obscure GamesDay miniatures) and even when they do, it's not by a lot.
Check on ebay for some ballpark prices, but I would probably try to part it out and sell it piecemeal. Most people buy battleforces for discounts, so if it's gonna be more expensive than buying new then they might be turned off by it.

Older boxes that had built in discounts that are still NIB can often be worth more than they were bought for.
They're still worth less than the current retail of the models combined, and that's assuming the models are still current. The orks got a major model overhaul in very late 4th edition. If the box contains those models (the current models), it'd be worth just a bit less than what the kits separately are worth. If it's the older models, it'd be worth substantially less.

It sounds like it's this one:

If it is, I'm fairly certain that all the models are the current ones in production.

That's the one. So what I can gather from that is the amount of profit I'd get from the box is less than selling piecemeal, and still not much more any other box of the same. So not really worth my time?
