Subject: Which loadout are you going to do for your Wulfen?

Hello!
With the impending release of the Wulfen, I'm curious to see how everyone plans to model their new Wulfen.
Are you going to keep them in a unit of 5 or stretch it out to 10?
Are planning on running a full squad of Wulfen with Frost Claws or pepper in some Frost Axes or Thunderhammer/Stormshields?
I want to make my models as WYSIWYG as possible so it's easier for me and my opponent to tell which weapons they are armed with.
I know I want to have 5 man squad with an upgraded Pack Leader. I want 3 models with dual frost claws but I'm debating on if I should arm the other 2 models with Frost Axes or Thunderhammer/Stormshields.
I'm definitely giving all of them Stormfang Auto-Launchers.
Thoughts?

Being only T4 with a 4+ armour save makes me think I'm going to be taking these guys cheap. Storm shields are great but I think it's too much of a point investment, especially with an assaulting unit in this shooting heavy edition. I'm thinking of running MSU sized squads of 5 with the Pack Masters with Claws and the rest with the Frost Axes, their job in my army is to go after the big scary unit like a Wraithknight or things along that line while the rest of my army handles other duties.

I've been wondering this myself. The axes look cool and are cheap, but I saw a post somewhere that said "why do we need ID t4 when we can drown them in S6 ap2" or something along those lines. The axes only benefit when they charge otherwise they are inferior to the strength of a hammer and have less durability than a ss.
I think I'm going to load them out with 2 SS/TH for protection against shooting, the leader and a normal dude with the claws and then one ax mostly because as i said earlier they look cool.
I plan on doing this with with 2 squads and then after a few games I'm getting a 3rd box to switch out any and/or try out their formation of 2-5 wulfen and do 3 squads.
Edit: for forgetting special rules and stats

I actually think the TH/SS is an excellent investment. Only two are really needed for every 7 or so I'm thinking.

With their 2w, and Storm-Shields I feel like Wulfen are in an interesting spot. People are going to need to deal with them... they're too potentially killy to be ignored, but a decent amount of fire-power will still need to be directed their way, and those are shots not going at your TWC, or anything else. A predictable opponent is a weaker one.
I am actually going to try running three 5-man units in a Murderpack, along with three TWC units from Company of the Great Wolf. This way, on a 4+ TWC are getting to move TWICE and still be able to assault on Turn 1. At that point I can tie up threats to Wulfen, or do anything else as needed.
I'm planning on a load-out on the Wulfen of two TH/SS, two Frost-Axe (which are AMAZING on the charge... even against WK as their striking at Initiative means even if he wipes them out they're attacking TWICE that turn), and the Pack Leader with his Claws. It should be a versatile unit that can scare elite infantry, horde infantry, vehicles, MCs... essentially anything.
People are torn on these guys, but I will keep reiterating that I think they can be very strong if we crack the right list to run them in.

Are there any units that people think would go well with the Wulfen? I have a space wolf force and I'm trying to figure out if now is a good time to part ways with it (and if so, how to do so smartly)

I forgot that Wulfen were I5 and about the whole attacking after death. So yea they do work even against the WK.

TWC... all day, every day. They naturally have the speed to keep up with Wulfen, and are even more of a threat, thus serving as bullet-magnets in most cases. Plus, if they get the big "move twice" buff from the Wulfen, they have a potential threat range of 36"

That's definitely a scary loadout. I may have to mimic that. I could get a second box of Wulfen and give them all Frost Claws so I can mix and match as I see fit.

Skyclaws and Thunderwolves seem to have really good synergy with the Wulfin. Mobile assault units that can be greatly amplified by the Wulfen buff. Skyclaws can benefit from 12" out which is a boon when they need to split off to charge into combat away from the wulfin.

Wait...this "move twice" buff - I thought it only affected the Wulfen...it can affect TWC too??
Maybe it's time to invest in the thunder dome!

The move twice buff can't affect Wulfen. The rules for the hunt/kill table is for all non-vehicle, non-wulfen, models that are not in a transport at the start of the turn.

Yeah, the Wulfen do always have their built-in, may move, run, AND charge... but TWC on the Curse-buff can even out-pace them. Luckily, anything the TWC tie up also isn't shooting at the Wulfen should they start to fall behind.

Definitely in the formation as the 1/6 chance on any 12" move squad insta charging is too good.
My test game I ran them with a smattering of gear (1 Axe, 2 THSS, 1 Claws, 1 Big Bad w/ claws) and they did ok. It was vs Slaanesh daemons so I was liking the claws and axe way more than the hammers but they performed alright. Ran them with an iron priest and puppies for ablative wounds, a 2+ armor save and Look Out Sir, and they took out 1 daemonette squad with a couple casualties but then got hammered by an Iron Armed lash prince and got knocked out (iron priest lived to kill more stuff)

For my wulfen I am gonna have to go with magnets lol. Too many different combinations as well as gaming situations where I will want to change up the composition based on the rest of the army/who I plan to run them with.
Also need to see all the rules, even the little side ones to be sure.
Still gonna buy them, they give me the BIGGEST fluff boner, just need to find alternate heads....Put your damn helmet on its dangerous out there,

Why not just use any of the standard helmets that come with the base SW kit?
For me, I wanted more of an up-armored look, and since the SW kit comes with TH/SS, Axe and Claws that nobody uses I just made mine essentially true scales marines, though I modeled the greenstuff in the joints as fur poking out of their armor.
