I see a lot of plogs and showcases in this section, which seems strange considering there is a whole forum section for plogs and another for showcasing finished minis, so I wonder what forum policy is on this? Are they all supposed to go in the appropriate forum or is it fine for people to post both there and here?

Kind of like how there's a dedicated forum "Nuts and Bolts" for forum related discussion but these threads some times end up in Painting and Modelling?

I assume most the time it comes down to people not knowing the other forum exists or not thinking they will be starting a "plog" until after they've started it and the mods don't feel the need to shift them around.

The main difference is that the ones in P&M tend to detail a specific project and development, and are asking for input from other members.
There are no real "this is my everything" blogs in P&M proper.
"I'm working on this look/army/technique" is a discussion topic centred on a project.

If this forum was purely Q&A with no such topics, it would become a hit and run forum with scant discussion.

I guess my main gripe with this is that I really like plogs, and I don't want to have to monitor two different sub-forums to avoid missing some of them :-)

I guess that's true, although I don't see why those couldn't also be in plogs?
