So the new Elite Talent, Rage, is pretty crap on anyone but Tycho, but it's AMAZING on him. It gives you Action:get a focus and you may reroll up to 3 dice when shooting, but take 2 stress. And it costs 1 point, so that's nice. I realize it's not out yet, that's why I'm posting what it does.

Anyways, I ran basically this but with plasma torps instead of Jan Ors on the Bwing the other day, and Tycho WRECKED.

Tycho-Title, Rage, PTL, AT, Proton Rockets-35

Bwing-Bwing/E2, Jan Ors Crew, FCS-27

Red Ace-Comm Relay, R2-D2, AT-38

So that's the list. Idunno how I like the Bwing with Jan Ors. I might swap it for Ion cannon to line up the Tycho Prockets better.

Wrecked even against Poe, Ten Numb, Vader, Talonbane, Soontir, Han, Whisper, Dengar, Jake, and the Inquisitor? Tycho with Push and Rage is good, but an Out-PSed Tycho is a dead Tycho. And he doesn't exist in a vacuum. When everyone else is taking VI, VI becomes mandatory. Not an optional "haha, I boosted to 10 so there's no way anyway can out skill me" the way it used to be.

I hate it, but its just how it goes. Unless of course your local meta doesn't have those pilots in spades and you don't plan on competing beyond regionals. Then go nuts.

I wanted Red Ace to be good so badly when it was released, but that build is just too expensive for what it does. It's just not durable enough because of the low PS.

It's the lack of EPT that makes him really weak for me. I like Red Ace, he's an insane late game Ace, really hard to kill. He is the same price as VI Poe though. I just don't like running Poe at my local club cuz it's so been done haha.

I didnt face any of the top aces with my build at the FLGS on Wednesday, our normal Xwing night. I'm reasonably confident in his ability to get a flank though, he's pretty dodgy and with 2 focus, my green dice are reasonably reliable.

I know what you mean about Poe.

My triple T-70 list from the other thread got murdered last night by a swarm, just because my opponent kept thinking right, but choosing the wrong direction on his dials, so I anticipated his thoughts right, just not his actual moves.

Then he said "if you've never faced Dash, you have to, at least once." So he threw Super Dash and PTL/BB8 Poe at me. I figuratively ate him alive because I could move after him, fire before him. PS is really king.

Interesting that that worked at all. How did it go?
I know that there's always an argument with TIEs that if you're in a tight mix, break away and you'll probably pick them up again in a better position, but I've never seen it in practice.

It went splendidly for him. The field was literally littered with TIEs, so even with speed 3 maneuvers, I couldn,t get away from the furball. I was stranded among all those arcs, even though all I wanted was to fly away and come back 2 turns later. Actionless Poe is a dead brick, let me tell you.

Vader with Juke is... surprisingly efficient. He insisted on running AC instead of ATC, and it did buy me about three turns more (we tallied the lost extra crits)

So the strategy sounds ok, but I wasn't able to put it in practice, because I was on freaking fire. My other opponent also leans towards a mini-swarm and support elements, so I'll have plenty of time to try it again. Doing it in 60 minutes is hard, though.

That being said, methodically picking apart Dash in the following game was a sobering endorsement of high-PS ships who can reposition with boost of barrel roll.
