Hi,
I am currently thinking to deepstike farsight and 7~8 bodyguards with farsight's no scatter warlord trait.
However, I don't seem to be able to find a reliable solution to actually deploy this bomb at the right moment at right time,
since reserve rolls....tend to be very unpredictable matter for most of the times.
I would love to hear any advice or solution to running this bomb bit more reliably for I love farsight dearly XD

I'd say the same really, maybe hold hammerheads at the back for a distraction too.

DBC (Dawn Blade Contingent) Retaliation Cadre.
Ret Cad special rules, Low Altitude Deployment - if the entire group reserves, it autodeploys turn 2

Minor expansion: take Farsight and his Bodygaurds as a Command optional formation, and attach the Commander from the Ret Cadre to Farsight's unit. This will allow a guaranteed turn 2 arrival. Going Fusion Blades on the Commander gives you second strong melee model in the unit. I advise taking a few Shield Drones as well, to tank high Str, low AP attacks via Lookout, Sir! Also, Stims on the Bodyguards lets them absorb ridiculous amounts of small arms fire.

Thanks a lot, guys!
I will try out the Retaliation cadre for turn 2 depoloyment, which seems to be the most viable option for now XD

I'm.... Not sure there us a concensus that's how it works.

The commanders is part of the retaliation, but the bodyguards are not. A unit that is partly of the formation and partly not interacts oddly with formation rules.

Personally, in our local, it's ruled to not work that way.

can neither confirm nor deny I lost track of what I've got right now.

The IC rules and the rules for Combined Reserved Units allows that interaction. That's RAW, the only disagreements are over RAI vs HYWPI. For the record, my advice on how to deploy is RAW.

Sorry, but how exactly is it raw that if a part of a unit can enter from reserves without rolling then the entire unit can?

Pretty sure IC rules don't cover that.

Its how the combined unit rules work, whether intended or not.

......In either case, when making a Reserve Roll (see below) for a combined unit, roll a single dice for the unit and/or its Independent Character/Transport vehicle.

It seems to be fairly self evident to me. Join Farsight to one of the crisis suit squads in the Ret Cadre. Deploy the bodyguards normally - they don't have to deploy with the commander.

Yes, it says roll a single dice.

But using who's conditions? there are two separate "rolls" involved, the retaliation cadre's unit that auto DS on turn 2, and farsight who rolls normally on a 4+. what gives you any indication that farsight copies the retaliation's roll, and not the other way around?

Interesting little trap you have laid here.
If we say we are using the Ret Cad's rules, then we scatter as normal
If we say we are using Farsight's, then we roll on a 4+

Can we say that we are using a version of superfriends, and use both?

Per the Combined Reserved Unit rules, you use the roll from one of the units in the combined unit, controlling player's choice. The other rules that are trigger by arriving are triggered, and still apply. This is why a Ret Cadre Commander joined to Farsight will arrive automatically on turn 2, and will not scatter.
