Howdy! I'm attempting to put together a list for the monthly 1850 games at my FLGS. I'm new to the hobby so this is also functioning as a shopping list of sorts, something to blow my tax return on. I'm definitely open to any C&C. If I read the Gladius Strike Force rules correctly, my two Battle Demi-Company groups will get free basic transports. This list comes out to 9X Drop Pods.
The general idea was to park some Tacticals on objectives behind ADLs and in front of Promethium pipes for increased burninating, then total drop pod spam. I'm considering changing out two Tacticals' drop pods for free Rhinos and leaving those two on defense. Also I really have no ideas on what to do for anti-air.
The guys that play around here use a lot of Orks, Astra Militarium and 'Nids, and I really liked the Salamander fluff so this is built with zerg-rush armies in mind.
Total Roster Cost: 1846
Battle Demi-Company, 643 pts
1 Vulkan He'stan (HQ)
4 Tactical Squad + Flamer
1 Sergeant + Combi-Flamer

Looks like a pretty sweet army. What is that like 11 drop pods? Personally I feel like the bikes are a bit out of place atleast with the theme of the army, but I understand you need them for the demi-company. Other than that it looks good. Some grav here and there could help in certain situations buy this army really just wants to kill enough to survive and dominate all of the objectives with the objective secured units + pods.

Total of eleven drop pods last time I counted, though I'm looking at dropping it to nine and putting in two free Razorbacks with two Tac squads for a little more range. The bikes are a little out of place, but my other options were jump packs, land speeders or assault centurions. The first two are super anti-Salamander and this list isn't really built for slow moving assault.
It was pointed out to me that I need to change my Captain to a Chaplain to fit the rules of the Gladius Strike Force, which isn't a super big deal and clears up 20 points for more upgrades. I'm still sorting those out.

If you take the chaplain, to me his best role is with an assault squad. They become fearless and reroll to hit roles in the first turn of combat. It might be worth thinking about switching out one of the bike squads for an assault squad to put him in. Best case scenario they tear through the enemy and just keep assault hopping from unit to unit. Worse case scenario assault an important enemy and bog him down with fearless until you can surround em with other shooters.

Just take the assault squads with 2 flamers in another free pod. Isnt that like perfect for this list?

Your list is unbound. There are no slots to take fortifications in the gladius. I’m not sure the best way to make them fit.

I'll update it to remove the fortifications. I couldn't find in the rulebook or codex where it said how many were allowed.

Thats a mean list. Have you considered dropping the bikes for landspeeders with multimeltas and then giving more combi meltas to your sternguard? Thats the only thing id do different but its really more of a preference thing to me. I think with all those meltas your list is the perfect counter to an opposing gladius while still being able to scare eldar scatterbikes with the flamers.
