Hey folks. Man I like this game. I like everything about it. I like the scale the story and the story of it's creation. I've played only a handful of times but I have a literal gak ton of the models. I am starting a thread of my progress in getting our little group involved in the game so I can have some playmates! My goal is to get some great games in so I don't feel that I am such a mini hoarder.... but I am. I went a little crazy at the LVO in 2014 buying stuff. Then, this year, I promised I wouldn't buy any more... but they were all there.... just waiting to be bought. So here it is, the full scale of my crimes and misdemeanors. My to do and my finished inventory. Pics will follow. I am going to put together lists for my group and skirmishes. I have some ideas for scenery too. I am thinking about buying more buildings... but the nice N-scale Japanese post modern ones and some N-Scale cars and train tracks and bridges and lamp posts and and and.... Emperor help me. Ok... ready for launch... don't judge me....

Pics to follow....

Ok all [NIB] can be labled (ASSEMBLED!)

Also (although I cant believe it), I bought a crap ton of new MDF scenery from 4Ground including the Monorail, Big Bank, Corporate HQ, 12 plazas, and other buildings. Crazy...

So... Bolt Action is on hold...

Nice work! With all those painted armies and then the terrain you shouldn't have too much trouble convincing some opponents to play.

First Game today. Went the distance to 6 turns. Resistance vs UCM. 1-1 VP then went to kill points 158-127. His favor.

Great game. We were both holding one objective. And he pulled a command card returning one of his gun wagons to the game with one DP remaining. Dang it!!!! That wouldve allowed me to win. His infantry were on foot and out of cover, but it wasnt until the last turn that I shot up their ride. I had no options for them. Whew those lifthawks are tough! And those UCM AA can dish out some flak! He loved it.

Holy crap those foreground buildings are incredible. My only criticism is they look a bit too "new" for the reconquest and could use some weathering/Moss/battledamage but they are definitely stunning.

Also, I'd recommend trying some katanas for the UCM, they're awesome tanks and a lot of fun to use.

What kind of demos do you run? I was considering doing 500pt intro games using starter box contents, but I've heard of others doing 750-1000 PT intros for more experienced wargamers. I know my first demo was a 1500pt game and I was surprised at how quickly I picked it up.

You don't need to play DZC on an urban landscape. This is one of the demo tables we used yesterday at Carronade in Falkirk: The power station in the foreground and the defence laser in the background had Objectives, while the top of the cliff in the middle was a Focal Point.

If you wouldn't mind, could you take a picture of these with a base of infantry for scale? Oh, and where are they from? Thanks.

Hamster - the terrain is from 4Ground. They're based in the UK. I'm not sure if they have a US distributor yet or if you just have to bite the bullet on the shipping. They make some of the best DzC terrain I've ever seen, so it would be worth it.

Dok - Nicely done on the armies and the terrain! I'm impressed by your ambition and wish you the best of luck with getting a group together. DzC is very well designed and part of the enjoyment seems to be that everyone is still learning, so the competitive side is secondary to just having fun.

I've been eyeing the 4Ground terrain for awhile. Were you able to find it in the US or did you order it directly from them?

I'd like to do something similar here in Connecticut/Massachusetts. No idea how I would organize a community but it would be awesome.

Thanks for the reply, Nodri. 4Ground does have some fine buildings, but they are a bit pricey. Two places I've looked at are:
Plaza Japan on eBay. It's N scale railroad accessories, but there's a factory set that's inexpensive, and a separate set of cooling towers. There are a few office buildings that I like as well.

Blotz is another UK company that does laser-cut buildings. Unlike 4Ground, they are not pre-painted. I'll probably order from them as I like the Grand Hotel and the Hospital. Another advantage for me is they have Kings of War movement trays which I occasionally play, although not since getting into DzC this past December.

@Warboss90: Do you have at least one other person who has an interest, even if you have to provide the army? If you could demo at a local store, you might be able to build a local group. You'd want the two player UCM/Scourge starter for demo games.

Heres the Corporate HQ and my 3 completed ones so far. Also for scale there is a Hawk Monorail pylon next to the station for scale. I have another corporate HQ, the Hab Blocks, and the Bank with the mirrored windows. I just wish battle tech made 10mm mechs and that the new Epic (if it comes out) would be 10mm. More updates forthcoming... I am pretty determined to finish the terrain before I start again on the minis.

@Nodri Thanks. I ordered direct from UK. Strong dollar at that time though. I hemmed and hawed before I bought. Im stoked. Ultra high quality. Will be a customer again.

@Hamster I put the pylon in there for u. Hope that will work. 4Ground makes these specifically for DZC.

Thanks for the reply, doktor_g. Now that I know the kits are from 4Ground, since they have models in their store pictures, that gives the size comparison I was looking for.

Wouldn't mind the Corporate HQ. While I do like Art Deco architecture, having ALL DxC buildings being NeoDeco is a little much. I want some buildings that look futuristic (by our current standards).

Another option for buildings are the Woodland Scenics kits. Individually they're about as expensive as wargaming terrain. I did, however, find the N scale Town and Factory Building Set for 80 bucks (about half of MSRP) during a holiday sale at a local Hobby Town. You can normally find it for about $100 for 13 buildings, which comes out to about $8 each. I think this set mixed with some centerpiece kits from 4Ground, Blotz, or a few other choice N scale pieces should make a pretty solid city.

DarkOps is another UK terrain company. The 10mm range is not as developed as that of 4Ground, but they have some interesting futuristic buildings.

Well they have some interesting stuff! Thanks for the link, hadn't heard of them before.

I'd really recommend Blotz for some DZC scale stuff, I've got a whole bunch of their stuff and it's very nice, though a lot of it is in the Art Deco style rather than more overly futuristic.
