Painted up a trio of Skaven this week, three plastics from the Island of Blood set. No conversion work here, they're all just really nice sculpts so I kept them stock. When painting, I kept the palette very limited (just 10 paints used across all three, bases included) to mimic the look of what I consider to be the best Skaven artowrk, the really muted, grimy, dingy stuff (these are rats, after all!). Experimented a lot with different textures here as well, trying new methods for NMM mouldy/rusty armour (kind of want to do some Nurgle stuff now I've got the technique down), worn leather, frayed cloth, wood grain, the stiched-together banner. Can't see myself doing any more for a while, but as a small one-off project to learn some new skills they were great fun!

Any thoughts, comments, questions and gallery votes very much appreciated, thanks for looking! For those following my Badab War showcase, work on that will be resuming next week, I've got hold of a new more Marines.
