Hello everyone,

I have been looking to into BA for a while and really like the idea of building a tank list.

What would be the best purchase for this? Do I buy the amourmed starter set and then add on some more tanks?
Where would I find the points for the tanks and can I play against anyone or can I only play in tank battles?

Sorry for asking lots of questions looking to buy tanks 2moro at beachhead Bournemouth

Thanks for reading and any advice

the prices for the armor is in the nations book. as for where to start. I'd say look in to the troop size for your nation. Britain was mostly 3 tanks while Germany liked 4/5 tanks and so on. Also depends on the points your aiming for. I'm starting out with a 600pts British Airborne Recon Platoon made of Jeeps and some Infantry.

Only the Insane have strength enough to prosper, Only those who prosper may truly judge what is sane.

Get the Tank War book and your chosen Armies of book(s). The Tank War book gives you new recovery units, more options for your tanks (things such as radio networks, etc) and new scenarios. The Armies of books give you your actual vehicles. The Tank War book also gives you rules for tank crews gaining more and more experience (and skills) over time. Finally it also has the rules for several notable tank aces from various nations.
Remember that tanks can be expensive, especially late war (I can build a 1000 pt army out of my three Churchills) but some of the lighter ones and the early war stuff are cheap enough to allow you to run a regular platoon alongside them - advantageous as it means you dont have to take transports!

Heya! I'm a Warlord sarge specializing in Bolt Action that hangs out on Dakka so lemme see if I can help ya out!

Two easy ways:

1. Armoured Fury starter set, then the Armies Of.... book of your choice - especially if you were looking at building a late war German or US tank list. The Armoured Fury box set has significant savings over purchasing those tanks individually, but also includes the Bolt Action rulebook and the Tank War expansion rulebook that has the extra rules for armoured platoon selection, campaign play and experience for tank crews, and fun extra rules and scenarios. Plus some order dice in green and grey.

2. Bolt Action rulebook + Tank War book + Armies of.... book of your choice

So, honestly, before I can narrow it down - what nation and what era are you thinking of wanting to play?

"...and special thanks to Judgedoug!" - Alessio Cavatore "Now you've gone too far Doug! ... Too far... " - Rick Priestley "I've decided that I'd rather not have you as a member of TMP." - Editor, The Miniatures Page "I'd rather put my testicles through a mangle than spend any time gaming with you." - Richard, TooFatLardies "We need a Doug Craig in every store." - Warlord Games "Thank you for being here, Judge Doug!" - Adam Troke
