I know this has been done alot but here is my take!

I have been inspired by this thread and blog:

http://orksforge.blogspot.co.uk/2013/02/step-by-step-meganobz-tutorial.html

I have looked at it loads over the last year or so and finally decided to have a go - and the blog/step by step instructions have disappeared!

I am mostly working from memory and kinda going my own way - a few design cues from the Bullgryns as well!

My plan is to build 3 Mega Nobz plus a Mega Warboss, you can see 4 boddies here but once I started I decided just to progress 1 to completion as I have no clue what I am doing yet!

First couple of plates went on before I decided to photo everything, pretty simple, slight trimming of the Nob boddies, just anything like ammo cans and grenades from the AOBR nobz (plus slotta bar between feet) and slight trimming/filing to allow the main plates to sit evenly against the chest.

The neck plate may have been possible to do in 1 piece but 2 pieces allowed me to trim it closely around his neck.

I tried to size the fron neck plate to sit roughly in line with the back armour or just slightly above it.

I then slapped a piece on to to close it up!

Will keep you posted as he goes, feel free to pass on any advice/comments!

Is there anyway, when you get those painted, that you could paint one to look like its wearing a sandwich board? That's the first thought I had while looking at these guys

H.B.M.C.- The end hath come! From now on armies will only consist of Astorath, Land Speeder Storms and Soul Grinders!
War Kitten- Vanden, you just taunted the Dank Lord Ezra. Prepare for seven years of fighting reality...
koooaei- Emperor: I envy your nipplehorns. <Magnus goes red. Permanently>
Neronoxx- If our Dreadnought doesn't have sick scuplted abs, we riot.
Frazzled- I don't generally call anyone by a term other than "sir" "maam" "youn g lady" "young man" or " HEY bag!"
Ruin- It's official, we've ran out of things to talk about on Dakka. Close the site. We're done.
mrhappyface- "They're more what you'd call guidlines than actual rules" - Captain Roboute Barbosa
Steve steveson- To be clear, I'd sell you all out for a bottle of scotch and a mid priced hooker.

Ha ha hopefully he will inspire more fear than advertising by the time he is finished!

Feet are raised up with a wrap around and front plate - adds some height.

Not sure how to deal with the foot that is angled, any suggestions?

Started adding some detail as I was not sure what to do next!

Stand offs added to knees to allow easier adding of leg plates.

Knee plates and pistons!

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Here are the knee plates and pistons added.

I added the arms now to try to see how he was looking, made things a bit of a pain as I went on so next time arms will be last!
I have no spare shootas so doubled up some sluggas for his gun.

Will add some more detailing and might try an iron jaw!

Hi again!

Agreed with Tactical_Spam he looked too flat, I thought one of those old fashioned boards you stick your head through and has a comedy body painted on the front rather than a sandwich board!

So to help out I added an iron jaw!

I have added all the detailing and rivets here as well, needed to remove the lower shoulder dags to fit the jaw on.

The green jewels were a trial with stick on jems as an easy way of doing rivets but they are not sticky enough and a little to big, I super glued a couple before going back to plasticard rivets.

Back view.

Over all I am happy enough with how it is going, think I will paint this guy up to get a real feel if it is up to scratch before building any more.

Pretty sure I need to avoid as many square edges - especially the knee plates and the Jaw next time.

Any suggestions would be greatfully received!

Here he is with base coats and washes complete - just the highlights and scratches to go!

The finished article!

Here is a size comparison shot.

I do not have any real Mega Nobz so any input regarding size would be appreciated!

Would people be happy to play against this as a Mega Nob? I only play very occasionally and they are mostly casual pick up games so I think people should be ok!

For the next few I will try to be less 'square', especially the knee pads and jaw, any other comments welcome!

My next 2 victims/volunteers!

Going for slight variation on each one while sticking to the same general build.

One of these 2 is going to get dual kill saws so I need to figure out how to build those!

Also need to try and do a better job with the shoes!

Another funny idea would be making a box for the Nob to fit in so only his arms and legs and head stick out. Put another box over his head then paint both boxes brown. None shall stop the Postal Ork.
