with a sub orbital strike wing as a LOW slot you can take 1-3 flyers with 3 HP or less of the same type, when it says of the same type does it mean the same model or type of flyer?

Wouldn't the unit type be a flyer. IMO, in the wording, it means three of the same flyer, ie... 3 × Fire Raptors.

Yeah, that is right. Is that the exact wording?

Sub-orbital Strike Wing: 1-3 Flyers with up to 3 Hull pints each and of the same type may be chosen to represent a sub-orbitaly launched strike force of fighters or bombers during Horus heresy games. This wing of flyers arrives from reserve as a single unit, they must enter play within 6" of the same chosen point on the table edge but are afterwards treated as entirely separate units during the game.

It doesn't say "unit type", though. Given that what it's supposed to represent is a 'fighter squadron' that's been dispatched to support you en masse - hence why the deployment rules are pretty much the same as for a Dreadnough Talon - I'd expect to see the same classes of fighter...i.e. taken from the same army list entry.

Hesh on B&C compiled a listing of the aircraft available. They are aircraft not listed in the standard army book as far as I am aware thus you can bring 1-3 vultures or 1-3 vendettas or 1-3 valks etc etc. They do have to be the same aircraft type but armament can vary between individual air craft so you can have a strike wing with a Vulture with 4 missile pods and a Vulture with twin Punisher cannon as your LoW.

I would have to check the wording but I do not believe you can have an aircraft listed in the HH army books as your strike wing thus no heavy support raptors and LoW raptors.

If you dont short hand your list, Im not reading it.
Example: Assault Intercessors- x5 -Thunder hammer and plasma pistol on sgt.
or Assault Terminators 3xTH/SS, 2xLCs
For the love of God, GW, get rid of reroll mechanics. ALL OF THEM!

I'd have to check. I think you can use them if they are in your own army list, but you can only 'pull in' stuff from Imperial Armour Aeronautica if it doesn't currently exist in the heresy era rules at all.
