Hey!

So I grabbed a Betrayal at Calth set a few days ago to begin a Luna Wolves Horus Heresy army. As such, I wanted to use Garviel Loken in my list but wanted to keep him in his pre-heresy regalia, which sadly, Forge World does not have from what I have seen. SO I decided to make a conversion from the BaC chaplain dude! It's a pretty simple model that just needed some re-positioning and minor adjustments.

I decided to magnetize his head so I can swap between the helmeted and un-helmeted versions. I used the wings off of an armorium cherub on the chainsword handle to give it a little more flair. And I used a devastator sergeant head that was PERFECT for Loken's face and hair for some reason. It worked out really well. I'm not super fond of the chainsword with the wings so I may replace it with something ornate but less chunky (possibly a death company chainsword). It is supposed to be a Paragon Blade in the rules so :/

Let me know what you think.

It's a simple conversion, really. But it's actually very effective, the simple look suits him well (at least in my opinion). Get painting so we can see the final product.

3000pts Blood Angels (4th Company) - 2000pts Skitarii (Voss Prime) - 2500pts Imperial Knights (Unnamed House) - 1000pts Imperial Guard (Household Retainers)

2000pts Free Peoples (Edlynd Fusiliers) - 2000pts Kharadron Overlords (Barak Zilfin) - 500pts Ironweld Arsenal (Edlynd Ironwork Federation) - 1000pts Duardin (Grongrok Powderheads)

Wargaming's no fun when you have a plan!

Definitely looks the part! I agree about swapping the Chainsword, if you want something thinner then I think the Grey Hunters SW kit has some less bulky ones and the wolf iconography would fit right in with the Luna Wolves.

Very cool. I'll have to remember this idea because while I like the FW pair, screw buying Abaddon.
Agree on the chainsword.

Thank you all for the responses. Next time I am at my buddy's house I will ask him to let me have a Space Wolves chainsword. I think those will work great! Once I get the whole Calth set built up I will begin painting!

I love it because of its simplicity! I don't get that luxury with the White Scars so much, well done man!
