I've been going back and forth on the issue, I have been using white scars (bikes, 2 storm talons, 2 thunderfires) and im looking to expand to 1850 and im stuck between adding in 3 grav cents in a drop pod (with a possible libby depending on points) and a imperial knight (warden or pally) ... anyone who has used either combos or a similar list have any advice or comments?

Thanks

I've faced both, and grav cents are far more scary. They can be joined by a libby conclave and given crazy buffs. IKs get outflanked on their AV 12 sides and killed. Or I drop melta behind them. Cents don't have the vehicle curse.

Grav centurions are absolute machines, and they WILL melt any armour/vehicles they come across. Knights are prettier to look at though...

Grav cannons melt basically anything with a 5+ armor save or better. At least daemon players keep marine players a bit honest. Unless there is list tailoring, which is why I vehemently oppose that practice.

I think my only issue with grav cents is that if they reserve a prime target turn 1 and then blow them off the table ... alot of points down the drain for not alot to show for it, the knight would make a good distraction unit and give my army some counter assault potential. They are both good im just torn between the two.

Anyone else have anything?

I love Knights. I own 4 including 2 Forge World variants. I'm not a big fan of the the Cents, but really the question is if you are going for looks or going for tournament play.

If you're playing in tournaments, Grav Cents are the way to go. If you just want something awesome to look at as a nice centerpiece for your army right now, grab the knight.

Depends on the Knight honestly. The plastic GW knight is nifty, but the FW ones are really where it's at. I'm getting an Atrapos for my skitarii soon. That thing is a beast. Plus, Knight with a beamsword.
