Wolf Claw Strike Force The Blackmanes The Curseborn ** The Blackmanes ** Ragnar [195] (6) Wolf Guard (Ragnar, Arjac) 4x Combi-Melta Drop Pod [148] Arjac [115] (8) Wolf Scouts 2x Power Axe, BP/CCW 1x Meltagun [146] (10) Grey Hunters CCW, Power Axe 2x Meltaguns Drop Pod [195] (10) Grey Hunters CCW, Power Axe 2x Meltaguns Drop Pod [195] (10) Grey Hunters CCW, Power Axe 2x Plasma Guns Drop Pod [205] (5) Grey Hunters CCW, Power Axe Plasma Guns Drop Pod [120] (10) Blood Claws Power Axe, Flamer Drop Pod [140] (10) Blood Claws Power Axe, Flamer Drop Pod [140] (10) Blood Claws Power Axe, Flamer Drop Pod [140] (5) Long Fangs 2x Missile Launchers Drop Pod [90] ** The Curseborn ** Murderfang Drop Pod [170] [1999] That is a lot of dudes in Power Armor and a Terminator on turn 1 with Fearless and FNP 6+ on the drop turn. Plus a Dread, which rocks like 8ish S8 AP2 Shred attacks in combat at I4. All eleven Pods hit on turn 1, which can probably create some nice obstruction. Ragnar lets the BCs re-roll to-hit in CC too, meaning that WS3 is not as problematic, plus gives FC to his unit. And as it is a Wolf Claw SF, I get the bonus of charging in on the enemy on their turn if they are already engaged with one of my units. That is just gravy, really. On turn 2, Scouts roll in too. Thoughts?

According to my math you come out close to 2200 points not 1850, but overall I like it. I literally just got back from playing at my FLGS with a blackmane + curseborn list and it did pretty well at killing everything but his talos formation (which with out wulfen or TWC I didn't really have an answer for)

Were you pricing the Drop Pods? Because in the Blackmanes, they are free. That is one of the huge perks, really. Only Murderfang paid for his, which still makes him a bargain, in my book.
What was the issue with the Talos formation? I figure Arjac and Murderfang would help me there, but I might be missing something.

Yeah just the bodies and murderfang come out to 1795, then you have 255 points in special/heavy weapons and 135 in power weapons. And the Talos are T7 with a most likely 4+ fnp and WS5. So Arjac and Murderfang might kill a few but my opponent had 5 and he killed murderfang after he dropped in.

I will double-check my math when I get home (at work!), because I admit I did it right before bed and I was pretty tired. If it isn't right, I will re-tool it. I took my point totals off before posting and now I kinda regret it.
And yea, I remember that Talos formation now. Yeaaaaaa... 5 of them must be a nightmare. What do you think is a good investment to ensure a high volume of MCs like that aren't an issue?

No grav or poison in the Wolves armory that I can access, I think. Just Melta (and Plasma), which I have a decent amount of. Barring any point issues that I may need to resolve, can anyone think of any "problem" lists and how best to handle them? Tau... Eldar...? Automatically Appended Next Post: AND... fixed. I bumped to 2000pt until I can properly work up an 1850 list. Yea, not sure how the hell I managed to calculate that list so wrong, but I am chalking it up to being just damn tired last night. EDIT AGAIN! Noticed that Long Fangs are 1-2, not 2+ so that has been adjusted to fatten up the truly useful squads I had trimmed before. Now the list looks about right for 2k given the goal. Build a Pod forest and swamp the enemy in a tide of Power Armor. And also, do you think it worthwhile to add the Wyrdstorm Brotherhood (with Helm of Durfast) in place of Murderfang and some other stuff? I love the idea of that threshing berserker-bot, but would the Psykers be stronger/better/less of a liability?
